Great wine tasting experience

Wine on High was the perfect spot for our company ladies night. Leading up to the event, Tina made the process seamless & easy. Her communication was great. The evening of our event, Eric took the best care of us. We did a wine tasting before dinner & he was so knowledgeable about the wines he was serving us. Dinner & drinks were loved by all. They even personalized the menus with our company logo which I thought was a sweet touch.

Very knowledgeable

Outstanding experience wine tasting in the loft at Wine on High! The sommelier was very knowledgeable and customized the tastings for those who want red/white versus all white. We tried wine varieties and wine from regions that were new to us, which was fun! Nice range of price points from which to choose as well. Highly recommend for a tasting, glass or bottle!

Anyone who enjoys great food with wine will probably feel right at home here. Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant combines a full-service restaurant with a tasting room, making it easy to enjoy house-made wines with a full meal.

From what we’ve seen, the lively atmosphere keeps the place buzzing, especially during weekday happy hours when discounted glasses and small bites are available.

Besides that, the wine club offers plenty of member perks, while the weekend brunch gives guests another reason to stop by. Their daily operating hours also make planning a visit simple.

The biggest drawback is that complimentary monthly tastings are limited to two-bottle and three-bottle wine club members, so casual members don’t receive the same benefit.

Pros

  • Integrated restaurant layout
  • Structured weekday happy hours
  • Specialized weekend brunch service
  • Open seven days a week

Cons

  • Restricted complimentary member tastings

Overall 10/10 experience

Shalaun was amazing! we did the wine tasting for my friends birthday and she was so welcoming and answered every question we had. We then sat at the bar and Maggie was working, she was also great! Shalaun even stopped over to see what we got to eat. overall 10/10 experience, this place has great food and wine but even better people working!

Feels like a wine family here

Always love coming here! Became a wine member and definitely recommend it. I greatly enjoy the wine tastings. The customer service never fails and everyone is extremely knowledgeable about their wine. Feels like a wine family here 🫶🏻

Getting away from the city’s busy pace is easy at Wyandotte Winery. This local winery offers walk-in tastings, cozy on-site lodging, and a peaceful patio that’s perfect for relaxing with friends.

Guests can enjoy sweet and dry wines while pairing them with fresh wood-fired pizzas and small plates, making it feel more like a full night out than a simple tasting.

On top of that, regular live music events are included with no cover charge, adding even more value to the visit. We often joke that spending time here feels just as refreshing as coming home after hiring the best cleaning services in Columbus.

The only drawback is the limited schedule. They’re mainly open just three days a week, although extra visits can be arranged by appointment.

Pros

  • On-site short-term lodging rental
  • Fresh wood-fired pizzas available
  • Live music with no cover
  • Walk-in tasting options welcomed

Cons

  • Only open three days weekly

Very generous

The ladies were extremely nice and the tastings were VERY generous. We did 5 tastings each & let’s just say we had a good feeling on the way to the next winery LOL! We tried the sweet wines and to be completely honest we were not impressed with any of them. Then we tried the cake but they were out of the blackberry so we got 2 of the chocolate and that was fantastic. The other one we both took one bite of and had a hard time swallowing that.

Very affordable

My girlfriend and I visited Wyandotte today. We took the tour and enjoyed a round or flight of tastings. “Papa bear” was a great tour guide and very informative about wines. He gave easy to understand explanations in regards to what I would call common wine questions. If you visit, you will find a wine that you enjoy guaranteed and the environment is great. And not to mention the entire experience was very affordable.

4. Accent Wine Parlor

Website: http://accent.wine/

Address: 49 N High St.

Contact: 614 972 7086

Hours: Monday: By Appointment, Tuesday to Saturday: 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Accent Wine Parlor sits inside the historic Citizens Building and focuses on small-production wines, vintage bottles, and thoughtfully chosen collections for anyone interested in trying unique wines in downtown Columbus.

Rather than offering the usual brands, the team works with an Advanced Sommelier to select their bottles, and we could really tell the difference!

When we visited, we loved how friendly the staff was and how eager they were to share their wine knowledge. They made everyone in our team feel welcome.

They offer wine club memberships too. With this, you can access exclusive offers, including rare selections, discounts on tasting flights, and special prices for winemaker events.

However, parking can be frustrating because downtown street spaces are limited, so you’ll likely need to use a nearby public garage.

Still, the outstanding vintage Champagne selection makes the extra walk worth it.

Pros

  • Rare small-production bottle focus
  • Advanced Sommelier curated clubs
  • Cellar management professional consultations
  • Deep high-end vintage inventory

Cons

  • Limited downtown street parking

All of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly

We have attended several wine tastings at Accent and I’ve also purchased some of the wines sampled.  All of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the information conveyed during the tastings is really interesting.  Thank you for participating in the Taste of Downtown!

The staff is extremely knowledgeable

My girlfriend and I stopped here before our anniversary dinner yesterday 4/4. There was 6 bottles to taste from and the layout was unlike any other wine shop in the city. The decor and furniture inside is just lovely.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and we bought two bottles to take home with. I would recommend this wine shop to anyone and will have to sign up for a group tasting soon.

5. Good Vibes Winery

Website: http://www.goodvibeswinery.com/

Address: 2 South State Street

Contact: 614 392 2202

Hours: Wednesday and Thursday: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM; Friday and Saturday: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM; Sunday: 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Walking through historic Uptown Westerville naturally leads to Good Vibes Winery, a warm and welcoming place that’s perfect for relaxing with friends or family.

Set inside a charming historic building with exposed brick walls, the place offers private event spaces and room for both small and large groups.

One great feature is the flexible event setup. You can bring your own food or arrange for catering, and groups of six to twelve can reserve free tables at certain times. This makes planning special gatherings much simpler.

However, casual visitors should know the winery usually doesn’t accept standard reservations for two people.

Even so, the spacious tasting bar creates a comfortable setting, making it a great place to stop by for an easy, spontaneous wine tasting.

Pros

  • Historic building with exposed brick
  • Outside catering allowed for events
  • Complimentary small group table reservations
  • Spacious and comfortable tasting bar

Cons

  • No standard casual reservations accepted

The wine was perfect

Love this place. There was live music and the staff was 10 out of 10. Not to mention the wine was perfect.  No bad thi g ri say about the 9 tastings we had! I must admit the Music was at the right tempo and level for a small wine tasting

The service was superb and educational!

This lovely place is smack dab in the middle of downtown Westerville. Surrounded by restaurants and cute little boutiques.

It’s very clean and classy. Decorated with fun winery things.

A friend and I shared a tasting of 8 – 1 oz wines. All of them on the sweet spectrum per our request. My favorite? The “take it easy”. It was a hit all around.

Next time I will be staying for the cheese and meat tray I keep hearing about.. and of course the homemade popcorn from across the street.

The service was superb and educational!
