Here’s the truth about me: I hate working out—but I love dancing. So, as an adult who feels like I’m aging way too fast and constantly reminded to keep my health in check, I figured I’d turn my love for dancing into my way of staying active.
I started joining classes at dance studios in Columbus, and I love that it didn’t feel like working out. Some classes felt like I was just having a fun night out, and others really challenged me in ways I didn’t expect.
But the best part is I didn’t dread it as I would going to the gym. So, if you’re also looking for alternative ways to get moving, you might want to try these spots.
How much do dance classes cost in Columbus?
Dance classes in Columbus typically range from $40 to $200 per month, while drop-in classes start at $15 per session. The cost depends on the number of classes, the instructor’s experience, and the package’s inclusions.

Studio Rouge is a well-known aerial and dance fitness studio, offering an impressively diverse class list. It ranges from total beginner sessions to high-level aerial work. Some of them even require passing skill tests before advancing.
The studio is pretty popular for its pole dancing lessons, especially for those who want to build strength, flexibility, and confidence.
Students also said that the place is pretty inclusive and welcoming to all genders and identities as long as participants are over 18 years old.
What we like most here is the flexibility in how people can access the classes. You can opt for drop-in classes, purchase class packages, or subscribe to memberships that include discounts. If you’re preparing for a special performance, private lessons are also available.
A single class is around $40 to $45, while memberships start at $120 per month, depending on the frequency. It’s a little higher than standard, but the good thing is they offer a new student pass for $79, which includes unlimited classes for two weeks.
Awesome studio
“Awesome studio! So many great instructors, and I love the variety of class offerings. Feeling uninspired about going to a gym? Go here instead! There’s something very creative and beautiful in the aerial arts – give it a try to see for yourself.”

I’m hooked for sure
“I have been taking pole and dance classes here for a year now! Just had our 1st private hoop party for my sister’s birthday! It was an AWESOME time. I love all the staff there and it’s such a positive environment. I’ve learned and grown so much and made some great budding friendships! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I’m hooked for sure!”

2. Dance Edge

Address: 1400 Dublin Rd, Suite 103
Phone: +16143212348
Business Hours:
- Monday to Thursday, 2–10 PM
- Friday, 2 PM–2 AM
If you would prefer a more laid-back environment rather than competitive or recital-based training, Dance Edge can be one of the top choices. The studio specializes in teaching partner dances, such as salsa, ballroom, bachata, and more.
They can teach any age group, from kids to adults, and couples practicing wedding choreography.
We like that attending a class here is just like joining a fun social event. For example, they regularly host dance nights (like Friday Salsa), where there’s usually a beginner lesson followed by open dancing.
This is the very reason why many students stick to joining their group classes, especially those who like meeting new people. Not to mention, people say it’s more affordable than private lessons.
Exact pricing details may need to be acquired by reaching out to the team. But if you’re a newcomer, they offer an introductory package for $99 that includes three sessions and a complimentary consultation.
However, there have been complaints regarding their operating time. Several clients mentioned arriving at the studio, only to find it closed despite following the office hours.
Had a great time
“Never have been comfortable dancing for my entire life, but went to the Friday Salsa party and learned a few different dance styles. Probably looked a fool, but the environment and community seem to be very positive. Some very talented dancers, and then there are a lot of beginners. Had a great time and going back next Friday.”

Great instruction for beginners through experts
“Great instruction for beginners through experts. The lady giving the lessons was a national champion. My husband hates to dance, but he loved it. The bartender was awesome!”

3. Artisan Dance Studio

Address: 4140 Indianola Ave
Phone: +16148245503
Artisan Dance Studio stands out as something more like a training ground than a casual spot. They lean into skill-building, especially in ballet and contemporary style.
For younger dancers, there are recreational dances, ballet training, competition teams, and more. For adults, on the other hand, they can choose from styles like jazz and hip hop, with options for both beginners and experienced dancers.
And after every term, students get the opportunity to join annual showcases, like Nutcracker performances.
It can be a high-pressure environment, but for those who may not be looking for long-term commitments, drop-in classes and class packs are available as well.
Per-session pricing starts at $14, while a package of 10 classes is priced at $120 (valid for 2 months). Moreover, their artisan membership costs $160/month and includes 20 classes.
There’s also a new student offer, allowing them to try unlimited classes for two weeks at $25.
This place is my second home
“I started taking classes here as an adult who had been missing my high school dance days back in 2017. 8 years later, and this place is my second home. From my first class, each instructor I have met and worked with has been warm and welcoming. The variety of adult classes offered is one of a kind, with a huge focus on growth and a community built around a shared love for dance. Even within the student community, there is everything offered from recreational classes to competition, and so many performance opportunities abound for anyone. I could go on and on about my love for Artisan. This studio, its owner Jessica, and the instructors are all absolute gems.”

4. Columbus Northwest Dance Studio

Address: 1089 Bethel Rd
Phone: +16144598079
Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:30–9:30 PM
Columbus Northwest Dance Studio is a staple in the area when it comes to ballroom. It has been open for over 20 years, teaching partner dancing, such as waltz, tango, and Latin styles.
They provide group classes, private lessons, and workshops. You don’t necessarily need to bring a partner here. You can be paired with fellow students or even dance with instructors if needed.
The lessons usually take place in the afternoons and evenings on weekdays. Though it can work well for people with typical work schedules, we found it limiting for those looking for more flexibility or weekend options.
Also, classes are different every week, so you’ll likely need to inquire directly for their rates and packages. The good thing is they offer a 100% lesson guarantee, promising to replace the lesson for free if you’re not satisfied with your previous class.
However, such cases appear to be rare, based on their high ratings and positive feedback from students.
Great studio and a great instructor team
“Great studio and a great instructor team! We worked with Daniel and Hunter to organize private group lessons for the groomsmen’s party dance. Hunter was our main instructor. He was patient, creative, and a blast to work with. The whole team at the studio has been amazing. I strongly recommend this studio for any of your dancing needs. My fiance and I will also be signing up for group lessons to learn some new samba and rumba skills!”
- Julia O, Google Review
I can’t recommend this place enough
“My husband and I wanted to have a fun choreographed dance for our wedding and we asked Hunter to give us a challenge and he delivered! We performed a waltz into a tango this weekend at our wedding and it was a highlight of the evening! Hunter and everybody else at this studio were absolute gems and I can’t recommend this place enough!”

5. Honey Groove Studio

Address: 4028 Parkmead Dr, Grove City
Phone: (614) 277-8117
Business Hours: Open 24/7
If you’re looking for a studio that blends fitness and dance, Honey Grove Studio is well-regarded for its pole and aerial dance classes.
Classes here are made small, often limited to around seven students, to ensure safety and personalized attention. And if you need more peace of mind, you’ll be taught by instructors who are certified in pole fitness and aerial techniques.
Many of their programs are designed for progression, typically involving multi-week sessions that move from beginner to intermediate levels. These structured series require a strong focus, allowing you to gradually build strength and refine technique.
But if it isn’t your thing, single classes (starting at $20) and class packs ($120 to $595) are available as well. Additionally, they offer monthly memberships at $250 with unlimited visits.
Another thing to consider is the tight policies around attendance. The doors are locked when classes start, so late attendees won’t be accommodated—not to mention frequent no-shows can result in forfeited credits or fees.
Although the attendance policies are strict, the students we spoke to mentioned that the actual classes were fun and addictive.
A safe, uplifting space where you can truly express yourself
“I had the most incredible experience taking the chair choreography class at Honey Groove Studio! From the moment I walked in, I felt completely welcomed and supported. The energy in the room was empowering, fun, and inspiring. The instructor was encouraging, clear, and made the choreography easy to follow while still making it feel strong and confident. This class pushed me outside my comfort zone in the best way and made me feel powerful and confident. Honey Groove Studio creates a safe, uplifting space where you can truly express yourself. I can’t wait to come back for another class! Highly recommend to anyone looking to try something fun and empowering.”
