Plus, their competitive matchmaking uses the United States Tennis Association National Tennis Rating Program (USTA/NTRP) to ensure you always play a balanced game.
I actually dropped by here recently for a mixed doubles match, and the medium-speed surfaces felt incredibly consistent underfoot.
You also get access to player lounges, locker rooms, and social events, which help keep the community vibe strong.
Just keep in mind that trial classes can be hard to secure if you aren’t a member yet. Also, only a few of the courts are air-conditioned, so things might get a bit warm during the summer months.
courts themselves are great
Recently relocated to Columbus and my son started playing here after trying out a few of the other local clubs. The coaches are knowledgeable and motivated. The parent viewing areas are solid and the courts themselves are great. Wifi can be a bit spotty but its good enough for me to knock out some work while my son plays.

allowed for better attention individually
I came recently to see if I would fit in with a team development class and I really had fun and enjoyed it. They had a good viewing area above and usually small classes for teams that allowed for better attention individually. The people on the teams were social and could laugh and have fun.

Scarborough Tennis Club truly feels like a family to me. The clinics are always well-run and enjoyable, and Bob, Blaine, Brad, and the rest of the coaches create such a positive, supportive environment. The players bring great energy and make every session both fun and motivating. I look forward to coming here each week to play, learn, and continue growing with this wonderful community.

I have made great friends at Scarborough
It was always my dream to play tennis, but I wasn’t able to start until I turned 50. I took lessons at Scarborough and joined through a play and learn Membership. A few years later, I joined a club league, and later a USTA League. Tennis has become a huge passion for me. I have made great friends at Scarborough and have learned from several instructors. They have the best staff of any club in town!. They also have a great pro shop.

They offer a strong social structure centered on daily morning doubles sessions, along with competitive opportunities through the Greater Columbus Tennis Association (GCTA).
Outdoor courts here are well-maintained and available seven days a week, maximizing your chance to play throughout the active season.
Do note, however, that morning access is strictly reserved for members during peak hours. The club also focuses heavily on doubles play, meaning solo instruction and diverse fitness programming are quite limited compared to larger private setups.

This large facility stands out for offering comprehensive programs for all age groups, including a very strong development pathway for juniors, progressing from fundamentals to serious match play.
The inclusive philosophy here really emphasizes building friendships while improving your skills. Members also enjoy a fitness center, pickleball options, and organized league teams.
A friend of mine recently enrolled their kids in the junior program here, and the structured, age-based progression has been amazing for their confidence on the court.
You should know, though, that some group clinics overlap with private lesson coaching on adjacent courts, which can occasionally lead to uneven coaching engagement.
building the confidence to accelerate my tennis doubles
Since playing at Wickertree, I have learned so much more to appreciate the game of tennis.
This is starting my second fall season of club tennis.
You can see me here at the weekend evening mixed group, men’s Buckeye League (weekdays in the afternoons) and sometimes the men’s 3.5 group on Monday evenings (as a sub), and am building the confidence to accelerate my tennis doubles game better than I could have imagined from the support and good comradery here at Wickertree. Thank you!

5. Olympic Indoor Tennis

Website: https://olympicindoor.com/
Address: 3480 Indianola Ave.
Contact: 614-267-1213
Hours: Monday – Sunday: 7:00am – 10:00pm
Uninterrupted training, regardless of the weather, is always guaranteed at Olympic Indoor Tennis, thanks to its multi-level indoor facility.
Plus, their robust programming caters to all ages and skill levels, highlighted by a high-energy Cardio Tennis option that perfectly combines skill drills with a rigorous workout.
The environment focuses heavily on instruction blended with social play, allowing players to progress steadily from beginner lessons to competitive leagues. The highly experienced coaching staff is another big plus.
The flexible setup is fantastic, too. It allows non-members to rent courts, making it wonderfully accessible.
On the downside, navigating their court booking system as a guest can be a bit time-consuming due to the strict administrative steps involved.
The bubble-style architecture also creates awkward angles, which might limit spectators’ view of matches.
Nice tennis club
Nice tennis club. We have done lessons for the kids here and came here for a USTA tournament today. Tournament was well-run and the staff was friendly. It was really hot in the bubbles where the courts are, but in fairness, the outside temperature today was 97 degrees!

encourage kids to play tennis
The Olympic staff really goes above and beyond to encourage kids to play tennis. They helped me find an awesome coach for my kids, even though I wasn’t a member. The courts are really well maintained, and they often host tournaments so that local kids can gain match experience. Highly recommend!
