The owner, Mindy Chen, reportedly practiced by giving free massages to more experienced therapists in exchange for learning different techniques.
Now, she has over 10,000 hours of professional experience and continues to learn from other experts.
Another thing I appreciated is their low prices. A full hour of massage costs $70, which is honestly more affordable compared to other spas. There are also no upcharges for every massage you choose.
The variety is impressive, too. Massage Escape offers prenatal and sports massages, Shiatsu, and even reflexology. They also offer hot stone services and back walking.
One issue that does come up, however, is clients feeling pressured to tip during visits.

“I came here for a deep tissue massage after moving and dealing with longtime chronic back pain. The staff care about your comfort level, even getting me an extra pillow for my face for neck support. I have a problem area with pain in my lower back on my spine and the therapist noticed me groan a bit in pain and asked if I needed a softer massage around the area without me saying anything. I was only a little sore the next day and once I got moving at work all the soreness and aches were gone. I’ve had the best two nights of sleep that I can remember after getting my massage. Since opening in 2005, the spa has expanded beyond massage therapy. They started offering facials, acupuncture, and yoga. They even have fire cupping and waxing, so the place is holistic overall.
Domino, one of their therapists, stood out the most. He graduated valedictorian from the Columbus School of Medical Massage with 900 hours of hands-on training.
A 60-minute Swedish massage costs around $90, which feels a bit mid-range rather than affordable for most. However, they do have promotions like “Feel Good Tuesdays” that shave off $10 off services.
The biggest downside is the essential oil charge. Paying an extra $15 for oils feels a little unnecessary at this price point.
Still, I like their partnership with the Buckeye Branch because it gives the business a more community-centered feel.

I went with this option due to a tailbone injury a year ago that I am recovering from, and I wanted to try something new to find relief. I have not felt this good since before my injury, and it was such a great experience! Virgil let me know exactly what he was going to do throughout the process, adjusted to my problem areas, and took time to talk through where I was experiencing pain so as to not cause additional aggravation. I’ve been to OSDS before and never had a bad experience, but this one was definitely the best!”

“I was given the gift of a spa day by my children, and this is the place they chose for me to go. I couldn’t have picked better!! Everyone was super sweet! I had a full body massage, Swedish, I think, a foot scrub and a hydrafacial. Every part of it was exactly what I needed. I’m terrible with names, but the young woman who did my message and scrub was amazing! She frequently made sure I was okay, and the pressure was what was needed. She gave me excellent feedback about problem areas. Again, I can’t recall the woman’s name who did my facial, but she was excellent. We really hit it off, and I was glowing by the end! It was interesting (and kind of gross) to see what se was able to remove from my face. My skin has never been SO soft! I can’t wait to go back to give myself some much needed me time!”

Another detail that stood out is their use of natural products that are sulfate-free, paraben-free, and cruelty-free. While that may not matter to everyone, it definitely contributes to the overall wellness-focused atmosphere of the place.
They also host spa parties or birthday celebrations, which makes the experience feel more fun and flexible. Olive Massage & Spa is actually a great choice for social occasions.
Their weekday promo is also a plus. Appointments booked from Monday to Thursday before 4:00 PM receive an extra 10% disocunt.
My only issue is that they don’t handle medically exempt massages or insurance-related documentation. Their services are purely relaxation-based.

“I had a 90 minute anti cellulite full body massage and it was absolutely wonderful. From the moment I walked in, the space felt calm, welcoming, and professional.
My practitioner, Nicole, really listened to my preferences and customized my session to fit what I was needing. I left feeling relaxed, lighter and incredibly refreshed.
I especially enjoyed and appreciated the very thoughtful finishing touch of green tea and an adorable dessert tray after the session. It elevated my experience and extended the relaxation and pampering moment after the massage instead of the typical scenario of paying and rushing off.

Owner Monique Frazier has over 20 years of athletic experience, which honestly makes the sports massage side feel more credible. She also has certifications in lymphatic drainage, kinesiology taping, and nerve mobilization, among many others.
What I liked most, though, is how specialized their treatments are. Instead of offering generic massages, they heavily focus on deep tissue work and mobility improvement.
Apex also provides on-site services for schools, healthcare teams, and community events. This adds flexibility for clients in larger groups.
My biggest issue here is the pricing transparency. I couldn’t find clear service rates listed on the website, which makes it harder to compare costs before booking.

Their Swedish massage pricing was honestly an eye-catcher. At around $60 for a full hour, it’s one of the more affordable options I came across. On top of that, they also allow clients to customize the massage experience to suit their preferences.
The business specializes in couples massages, foot reflexology, and full-body massages. They also offer stretching and foot therapy, making them well-suited for overall muscle recovery.
I personally appreciated that they offer stretching, since many massage places tend to overlook mobility altogether. Another nice touch is the emphasis on stress relief and recovery without trying to make everything overly luxurious.
The only thing that may frustrate customers is the lack of walk-in availability. Appointments are required, so spontaneous visits aren’t really an option here.
