We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

CSIA Certification and Safety Standards: We specifically prioritized companies that employ technicians certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) to handle your fireplace. This ensures all inspections and cleanings remain completely compliant with modern residential safety standards.

Comprehensive Scope of Services: We focused closely on providers capable of offering a full spectrum of sweeping services, structural inspections, and masonry repairs. A broader service offering means you won’t have to scramble to find secondary contractors if unexpected issues arise.

Local Experience and Reputation: Our evaluation considered established Columbus-area businesses with strong, proven track records in local maintenance. Consistent community trust is a fantastic indicator of reliable workmanship and respectful customer service.

Inspection Quality and Reporting Transparency: We specifically looked for providers that offer detailed Level 1 and Level 2 evaluations alongside high-definition video scanning. Clear safety reports guarantee that you always know exactly what is happening inside your home's ventilation system.

Reliability During Seasonal Availability: We reviewed how well these companies manage their schedules during the notoriously busy fall and winter heating months. Being able to secure a prompt appointment when demand spikes is crucial for timely home preparation.

When the chilly Ohio winter rolls in, nothing beats curling up beside a warm fire. However, finding the best chimney sweep services in Columbus is essential to ensure that cozy evening remains entirely safe.

Customer Reviews

Excellent, professional

Ralph D and Zac provided excellent and professional chimney sweep along with one year inspection services recently! I contracted with Blackburn Chimney to do complete stainless steel relining a year ago on 37 year old cracked ceramic chimney that was a fire hazard! Very cordial and answering my questions with a smile along with leaving areas spotless were much appreciated!

Top notch

I used Blackburns for a Sweep Level 1 inspection. Ralph D. and his teammate were prompt, extremely clear and professional with their communication, and answered all of my questions clearly and succinctly. I really felt like I had a very good understanding of what they did while they were here, and what they recommended. They showed me high-resolution pictures of the chimney both inside and outside and explained what I was seeing. I got copies of all the photos and a detailed work order for my records. It was really top notch.

Nice job

David came and spoke with my husband first and told him of our experience with another chimney service 2 weeks prior. Not a good experience with their team. David was so kind took pics to show us his work and what needed to be done. He is a super young man. Answered all are questions and made suggestions what the chimney needs done next. Thanks again David for such a nice job and clean up. This company is very fortunate to have such great person working on their team.

Excellent job

Eli did an excellent job completing the work thoroughly and professionally. He explained everything clearly throughout the process and made sure the job was done right. I truly appreciate his professionalism and attention to detail!

Their clean approach ensures no messy soot escapes into the living space during venting work.

Technicians incorporate a 360-degree video scope so clients can clearly see the inside condition of the flue. This advanced scanning tool uncovers hidden cracks and blockage risks easily.

They also offer an appealing 10-year warranty on masonry and liner installations.

Homeowners we spoke with mentioned they enjoy lasting reassurance against expensive system breakdowns. This comprehensive guarantee takes the stress out of managing long-term structural repairs.

That said, keeping the warranty active requires scheduling and paying for an annual safety sweep exclusively through them. This policy effectively restricts people from hiring outside professionals.

Customer Reviews

Definitely recommend

Needed a quick chimney sweep for my business. Found Master Chimney LLC on Google, and they were super fast. A top Columbus Chimney services company, they get the job done right. Definitely recommended for anyone needing quick service.

Super quick

Okay, so I usually try to fix everything around the house myself first. I mean, YouTube is a goldmine, right? But after wrestling with our fireplace for a solid afternoon, I gave up and found Master Chimney LLC on my phone. They’ve actually been out to our place in Columbus a few times now. First, it was a fireplace repair because I clearly made things worse. Then, they did a chimney sweep for routine maintenance. Most recently, they came for same day chimney cleaning Columbus when we had a weird smell. Super quick every time.

5. Fireplace Professionals, LLC

fireplace-professionals-llc

Website: https://fireplaceproscolumbus.com/

Address: 8720 Orion Place, Suite 126

Contact: (614) 971-2125

Hours: Monday-Sunday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Fireplace Professionals, LLC focuses on annual cleanings and camera inspections for both masonry and gas setups. This important care proves that modern gas logs still need routine venting maintenance.

Their crew use special cleaning steps built for gas units, clearing out hidden blockages to ensure proper airflow.

They also use small camera tools to find hidden internal damage before it gets worse. This direct process keeps heating systems running safely.

On the downside, their work options have limits, and since they focus only on cleaning, inspections, and waterproofing, they don’t handle major rebuilding. If properties need a full rebuild, clients must hire an extra masonry contractor.

Pros

  • Sweeps combustible deposits
  • Deploys technicians certified by the CSIA
  • Uses targeted camera inspections
  • Dedicated cleaning protocols for gas fireplaces

Cons

  • Doesn’t do major rebuilding

Customer Reviews

Highly recommend

I just bought a 35yr old house that was well built and well maintained. Given the age however I wanted to be sure there were not hidden problems. So I had the chimney cleaned and inspected. There were minor age related issues with mortar in the flu, old caps, roof flashing, brickwork that need pointing, etc. Fireplace Pros performed the inspection then returned in a couple weeks and fixed all the problems in a day. Should be good for another 35 years.

They were professional, prompt, and personable. I highly recommend them

Excellent job

Tyson did a great job inspecting and cleaning out our chimney. We had him come back and fix some cracks in the mortar and also had him resurface the crown. He was very knowledgable and did an excellent job.
