We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Practitioner Credentials: We looked closely at the educational background and licensing of each acupuncturist to ensure high clinical standards.

Clinics with providers who have formal medical training or decades of specialized experience scored highest in our evaluation.

Treatment Modalities: Our assessment favored practices offering a comprehensive range of therapies alongside standard needle treatments.

We checked for the availability of complementary services like cupping and herbal medicine to support fully integrated care.

Patient Accessibility: We evaluated how easy it is for new and returning clients to receive consistent care without facing undue financial or logistical stress in their daily lives.

Factors such as flexible scheduling and insurance acceptance played a major role in this metric.

Specialization Areas: Finding a clinic that addresses specific health concerns is crucial for patients dealing with complex conditions. We highlighted facilities that demonstrate clear expertise in distinct areas like chronic pain management or neurological issues.

Living with chronic pain or simply looking for alternative therapies can feel overwhelming. If you’re already exploring options like a chiropractor or consulting with kinesiologists, you might also be considering traditional needle therapy.

I spent time looking into the top local clinics to help you find the best acupuncture spots in Columbus.

Whether you want to manage anxiety, improve sleep, or tackle stubborn physical discomfort, there are fantastic practitioners ready to meet you exactly where you are.

Let’s walk through the top choices to help you make an informed decision for your health.

Address: 3600 Olentangy River Rd, C5

Contact: (614) 664-9936

Hours: Mon-Tue 07:30 am – 07:00 pm, Wed-Thu 04:00 pm – 07:00 pm, Fri 07:30 am – 07:00 pm, Sat 07:30 am – 05:00 pm, Sun By Appointment

Wei Qin brings a remarkable dual expertise in Eastern and Western medicine to Medical Acupuncture & Herbs, drawing on nearly thirty years of clinical experience.

This rare physician-level background means patients receive deeply knowledgeable care rooted in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and modern medical understanding.

Treatments here are highly personalized, often combining traditional needle therapy with custom herbal formulas prepared right in the clinic without preservatives.

I recently spoke with a chronic pain patient who praised their meticulous approach, noting how the private treatment rooms enhanced their overall relaxation.

However, since the emphasis here is strictly on traditional modalities like cupping and natural herbs, it might not appeal to individuals seeking a broader, modern wellness center vibe.

Pros

  • Wide range of TCM services under one roof
  • Custom in-house herbal medicine formulas
  • Accepts select insurance plans
  • Physician-trained practitioner with extensive experience

Cons

  • Narrower focus strictly on traditional modalities

Very experienced and knowledgeable

I have had headaches for years and I have tried everything possible, including acupuncture, but never really healed. After  1st treatment with Julia, my headache was about 60% gone. Now on the 4th week, I feel such relief that the headache is almost gone. I also learned a lot from Julia about what to eat and how to treat your body. Julia is very experienced and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Very knowledgeable, helpful and kind

Highly recommend Julia! I suffered from horrible neck and shoulder pain for over six months. Went to orthopedic drs, tried physical therapy, meds, massage, etc. I am FINALLY feeling relief with the acupuncture treatments with Julia. With each treatment, I am pain free for longer periods of time. She is very knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Definitely

2. Urban Acupuncture Center

Website: https://urbanacupuncturecenter.org/

Address: 4392 Indianola Ave

Contact: (614) 725-2488

Hours: Open daily, evenings and weekends – See Scheduling page for availability

Accessible healthcare takes center stage at Urban Acupuncture Center. They operate on an affordable community acupuncture model with sliding-scale pricing.

We like this mission-driven approach because it allows patients to pay what they can afford, ranging from $30 to $60 for initial visits.

They feature a multitude of experienced practitioners and operate seven days a week, ensuring you can always find an appointment that fits your busy schedule.

You can choose between low-cost group sessions in a shared room or private treatments, depending on your comfort level. They also offer complementary therapies like massage and Reiki to support your ongoing healing journey.

But while the sliding-scale model is incredibly inclusive, the variable pricing can occasionally create uncertainty for those who prefer fixed, predictable medical expenses.

Pros

  • Sliding-scale pricing improves accessibility
  • Open seven days a week with evening hours
  • Offers both private and community sessions
  • Wheelchair accessible with nearby public transit

Cons

  • Variable pricing creates budget uncertainty

Will continue going there

So far I have had about four massages/acupuncture. The moment he put the needles in for acupuncture, I could feel the flow of energy running through my body. I have had acupuncture done various places and I’ve never felt this flow of energy. Jeff does a wonderful job and I always feel very relaxed and sometimes I fall asleep during the massage. I highly recommended. I have issues throughout my whole body and going through this with Jeff has made my life much easier. I Will continue going there and I highly recommend

recommend doing a one hour procedure

Most skilled acupuncturists I’ve ever had

Urban Acupuncture is an incredible clinic and I’m so grateful to have found it. I see Jeff, who is by far one of the the most skilled acupuncturists I’ve ever had. Literally magician mode; he’s been able to support me in transforming things I never thought would be possible to transform. Their community acupuncture pricing model makes it accessible for me to attend on a regular basis, and that accessibility has absolutely contributed to the significant gains I’ve experienced on my healing journey. I’ll be a client for as long as they’re around!

Address: 750 Cross Pointe Rd Suite H

Contact: (614) 626-3058

Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Treating the entire body and mind is the core philosophy at Integra Acupuncture Wellness Associates. It’s led by an experienced acupuncturist with formal medical training from China.

The practitioners here design highly customized plans for each individual. They offer a wide array of styles, including Japanese and Five Element acupuncture.

They even provide a needle-free facial rejuvenation option, which is wonderful for those who feel anxious about traditional methods.

During my own wellness journey, I found that having access to complementary therapies like Qigong and electroacupuncture here offered a profound sense of relief.

A minor drawback is that some visitors report feeling encouraged to purchase additional services or workshops, which can come across as slightly sales-oriented.

Pros

  • Offers needle-free facial rejuvenation
  • Practitioner holds an MD-level training from China
  • Accepts select Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare plans
  • Provides educational wellness workshops

Cons

  • Some services feel sales-oriented

Knowledgeable, and an excellent practitioner

We love Melissa! Had acupuncture at another place before finding Integra Acupuncture and had an okay experience, but Melissa is the REAL DEAL! She is so knowledgeable, and an excellent practitioner. She is so caring and has been so fun to get to know. She is an excellent listener, and really helps you put the pieces of your health puzzle together. Her knowledge and the care she provides goes way beyond acupuncture, and I will continue to recommend her to anyone looking to improve their quality of life, or working on a specific health concern. 10/10!

A comfortable acupuncture experience

I enjoyed the  sessions. I admit,  I was a little afraid at first. But after my first session, my fears were dismissed. Melissa was very easy to talk to, as she was very outgoing as well as very professional. I would recommend this office for a comfortable acupuncture experience.

Address: 2511 Oakstone Drive

Contact: (614) 423-8368

Hours: Mon 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Tue 10:00 am – 7:00 pm, Thu 10:00 am – 7:00 pm, Fri 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Severe discomfort and neurological conditions are the primary focus at 12 Meridians Acupuncture, making it a targeted solution for complex health challenges.

They use a thorough diagnostic process to build individualized treatment plans. This goal-oriented approach is designed to provide fast relief rather than just temporary comfort.

Every visit involves comprehensive evaluations that often integrate complementary therapies like Gua Sha and dietary adjustments.

The clinic is led by a highly credentialed practitioner who is certified by the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC), adding a layer of trust for patients recovering from workplace injuries.

Because their methodology relies heavily on holistic lifestyle changes, patients seeking a quick, one-time fix might find the required commitment to multiple sessions frustrating.

Even so, their proven track record in Central Ohio makes them a dependable choice for managing chronic pain naturally.

Pros

  • Specialized focus on severe and chronic pain
  • Highly credentialed and BWC-certified provider
  • Thorough diagnostic and personalized treatment plans
  • Established local presence since 2010

Cons

Makes client comfort her top priority

It had been a few years since I’d visited 12 Meridians, but when I walked in last week, it was like coming home. Brigitta is a JOY to work with. She is friendly, professional, personable, and very knowledgeable. She makes client comfort her top priority, and trust me, when experiencing acupuncture and/or cupping for the first time, that is exactly what you want!!

Website: https://www.germanvillageacupuncture.com/

Address: 374 Berkeley Road

Contact: (352) 318-0154

Hours: Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM

Balancing emotional and physical health holistically is the hallmark of German Village Acupuncture. Their integrated approach provides an excellent environment for anyone eager to explore traditional aesthetic and medical therapies.

Their main draw is their specialized use of Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, a unique traditional style that goes beyond musculoskeletal pain to address complex issues like anxiety and insomnia.

The clinic operates primarily as a one-on-one practice under a practitioner with over forty years of healthcare experience, ensuring every visitor receives undivided, personalized attention.

Cleanliness and safety are also deeply prioritized here, with strict sanitation protocols that instantly put new patients at ease.

The primary downside is their private-pay model, which means they don’t bill insurance directly and require higher upfront costs for specialized services like cosmetic packages.

Pros

  • Utilizes specialized Classical Five-Element methodology
  • Led by an acupuncturist with 40+ years in healthcare
  • Offers cosmetic acupuncture for skin rejuvenation
  • Transparent time-based pricing structure

Cons

  • Private-pay model with no direct insurance billing

You can truly get the full benefits of acupuncture

Yvonne is amazing! She is truly gifted in what she does. She has helped me so much in just 2 sessions. It is important to feel comfortable with your acupuncturist so you can truly get the full benefits of acupuncture – as it can help many different things. Her spirit is so warm, welcoming and kind. She makes you feel so comfortable throughout the process. The sense of relief and calm just after 1 session with her. . . I was speechless. She is AMAZING at what she does. Would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Provides a professional, comfortable, relaxed environment

I started working with Yvonne a few weeks ago and I am already feeling less stress and anxiety. I am amazed at how quickly I have responded to acupuncture. Yvonne provides a professional, comfortable, relaxed environment for treatment. She is a good listener and asks questions to properly focus on the client’s objectives. I am extremely pleased with the results, and I plan to continue treatment.
