Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Friday to Saturday: 4:30 PM – 10:00 PM

Sunday: 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM

If you’re craving a night of pure luxury with premium steaks and exclusive cigar offerings, this downtown destination is a fantastic choice.

Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse delivers an upscale dining experience crafted by founder Jeff Ruby. They feature high-end beef alongside a dedicated Ruby Wine Vault.

On my last visit, the server guided us perfectly through the wine selections, making the entire dinner feel incredibly special.

The kitchen also serves an extensive sushi menu that offers an incredible alternative to traditional appetizers before your main course arrives.

A notable downside is that you can’t order takeout on weekdays, which is a bit disappointing if you want a cozy Tuesday night at home. The restaurant has shorter dining hours on Sundays, too.

Still, the vibrant atmosphere makes dressing up and dining in completely worth it.

Pros

  • Extensive sushi menu options
  • Dedicated wine vault experience
  • Convenient at-home meal kits
  • Curated premium cigar selection

Cons

  • No weekday takeout available
  • Shorter hours on Sundays

One of the best

Jeff Ruby is one of the best steakhouses in the country. Every visit is uniformly great. Beautiful space, food is always top notch, our server tonight, Jordan was the best.  We started with the complimentary bread with butter and an incredible truffle butter. Next,

our party of four shared appetizers of crab cakes, oyster Rockefeller, and an A5 ribeye. All perfectly prepared. My son and I shared the 70 days aged Cowboy steak for our entrees and apple sorbet and the best crème brûlée in town. We highly recommend Jeff Ruby!

Service here is of the highest level

Our first time at Jeff Ruby’s,  it was a delicious and elevated experience. Definitely one of the best quality steaks of my life. I ordered the steak Burrow which was blackened and they still managed to nail a perfect medium rare. The steaks were flavorful and tender. Sauces and sides were yummy and the service here is of the highest level, yet not overly stuffy. We enjoyed a cozy early Birthday dinner  and we’ll be back to celebrate other special occasions and explore the seafood options.

Beyond expectation

My wife and I went here for our 35th anniversary.  From the hostess stand to everyone in the restaurant service was top notch. Especially AJ our server. He was phenomenal.  Management and everyone came by our table to wish us happy anniversary. My wife had lamb chops and I had aged ribeye. Both were beyond expectation. My wife and I agree this was our new best ever meal. Thanks AJ and the rest of the staff.

Website: https://www.jgilberts.com/location/jgilberts-columbus/

Address: 1 E Campus View Blvd

Contact: (614) 840-9090

Hours:

Sunday to Thursday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Friday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Saturday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

If you appreciate the deep, smoky flavor that only an open fire can provide, Gilbert’s Wood Fired Steaks & Seafood is an excellent choice.

Named in tribute to legendary restaurateur Joe Gilbert, the restaurant serves excellent Midwestern-raised, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Prime Black Angus beef cooked exclusively over an open mesquite wood-fire grill.

I love how the kitchen supports local farmers by offering locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Plus, they stick to true Midwestern value by including delicious side dishes alongside your steak entrees.

A small downside is that the restaurant only serves lunch once a week on Fridays, so weekday midday dining is limited. But the incredible wood-fired char and packaged seafood boil kits make this place a phenomenal choice for dinner.

Pros

  • Open mesquite wood-fired cooking
  • Entrees include complimentary sides
  • Sourcing from local artisans
  • Curated seafood boil kits for home

Cons

  • Lunch is only available on Fridays

Best steak ever

Wife and son said best steak ever, even better than mine.

I had the sea bass. It was amazing. First time eating Bass. All sides were also amazing. This restaurant from when you walk in the door till you leave the door is high class without the guest dress code.

Steak was delicious

Me and my fiancee decided to have a date night. I made reservations and am so glad I did. We ordered the 3 course meal. The steak was delicious! Everything was amazing. The lobster mac and cheese and carrot cake was awesome. The shrimp was a little rubbery but other than that it was a great experience. I definitely look forward to eating here again.

One of the best places to eat steak in Ohio

Food here is always amazing. Ive eaten here several times and it’s finally time to say that this is one of the best places to eat steak in ohio. It’s a good in the middle of high end steak and a good price. Service here has NEVER been an issue. Always very well taken care of.

Steak was cooked perfect

Took the wife out on a date to finally try this place. It didn’t disappoint….so many things on the menu I wanted to try. Steak was cooked perfect and had great flavor. The calamari was good and the sauces they provided were a good opposite to enjoy sweet and spicy. Brussel sprouts were good but not great. The wife said the salad was the best she’s had. Got the peanut butter pie for desert which was rich and creamy. Look forward to coming back and giving it a try.
