Getting through an Ohio winter in comfort really comes down to one thing, and that’s solid insulation in your home. A well-sealed house keeps drafts out and holds warm air where it belongs.
Maybe you’re a developer wrapping up a new build, or maybe you just want to shave a bit off your monthly energy bills. Either way, the right contractor makes all the difference.
So I spent some time digging into local options to find the best insulation in Columbus, focusing on companies that pair strong thermal barriers with fair, upfront pricing.
Here are the top local picks worth calling for your home.
How much does it cost to install insulation in Columbus?
Installing insulation in Columbus typically costs between $1.50 and $4.00 per square foot, fully installed. Most full projects run $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the material type and the size of your home.
| Project Type or Material | Estimated Cost |
| Blown-In Cellulose or Fiberglass | $1.00 – $2.00/ sq. ft. |
| Rolled / Batt Fiberglass | $0.75 – $1.50/ sq. ft. |
| Spray Foam | $3.00 – $5.00/ sq. ft. |
| Attic Space | $1,500 – $6,000 |
| Basement or Crawlspace | $1,400 – $6,300 |
| Walls & Ceilings | $500 – $4,500 |
1. USA Insulation of Columbus

Website: https://usainsulation.net
Address: 5411 Franklin St, Hilliard
Contact: (614) 529-2440
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Upgrading an older home takes the right materials, and USA Insulation of Columbus stands out by making its own wall foam in-house.
They use a custom three-part blend that reportedly performs about 35% better than standard options. The lightweight foam fills the gaps inside your walls, helps slow the spread of flames, and makes your home safer.
When my sister had her old house upgraded, I tagged along for the walk-through. Their work to track down hidden air leaks was really thorough.
The catch is that the first check can feel invasive. The crew often drills small holes inside closet walls so they can run their cameras before any real work starts.

2. iFOAM Insulation

Address: 7534 Reliance St

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
It helps to pick a contractor with the right trade ties. iFOAM Insulation stays active with two big trade groups, the Insulation Contractors Association of America (ICAA) and the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA).
They focus on solid coverage. You get a limited lifetime warranty on materials, plus a five-year guarantee on the work itself. Their crew follows strict safety rules on every job, and they use top materials from major makers like BASF.
We also like this crew’s careful cleanup at the end.
Just know one thing about the warranty. It covers bad foam, but it doesn’t cover the labor to fix it.

Quick, efficient, quality attic upgrade
Quick, efficient, quality work. I asked iFOAM to upgrade the insulation in my garage attic from R-19 to R-49. They came out the next week and within 90 minutes they installed additional baffles along the eaves of the garage and blew in an average of 12 to 14 more inches of Owens Corning insulation. They were very efficient and did not make a mess at all. I highly recommend iFOAM FOR ANY INSULATION NEED, including spray, foam insulation and batt insulation.

It’s rare to find a crew that checks first and acts second. At Greene Solutions, every tech starts out trained as an energy auditor.
They’re a certified GoldStar contractor with the Building Performance Institute (BPI), so each upgrade meets strict trade and safety rules.
They keep tight control by doing the audits, testing, and air sealing in-house. More importantly, they don’t pass core work to unknown third parties.
Maybe you also want kitchen renovation services in Columbus for a bigger project. Their six-time Angie’s List Super Service award makes them a safe bet for the thermal side.
Just know that for older homes, they require a paid check before they suggest any fixes.

Professional team handled energy audit and sealing
Greene Solutions handled my energy audit, attic insulation, and Aeroseal duct sealing. From the initial assessment through completion, the team was professional, well-educated on the work they were doing, and easy to work with. They took the time to explain everything clearly and left the house clean when they were done. It’s clear why they have so many great reviews — they earn them. Glad to support a quality local business.

4. Edwards/Mooney & Moses

Address: 1320 McKinley Avenue, Suite B
Contact: (614) 351-6640
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
A track record of over 75 years gives this crew a real edge. Edwards/Mooney & Moses works as a member of the Installed Building Products (IBP) network.
They bring elite national training, and they use cellulose in both loose-fill and wall-spray forms. Beyond basic insulation, they also offer premium copper and aluminum gutters for better water control.
I recently worked with their field reps on a commercial upgrade. Their skill at handling tricky wall cavities saved the whole timeline.
The catch is the cost. Their high-end spray foam seals hard-to-reach spots well, but it takes a higher upfront spend than standard rolled batts.
Customer Review
Friendly crew added insulation and ductwork
Very kind, friendly crew. Added additional blow-in insulation to our attic. Also installed ductwork to properly ventilate our bathroom fans. While in the attic adding the insulation, they replaced a broken screen on a gable vent and added shielding to a can light at no additional cost. Everything was clean after job was finished. Highly recommend, and would go with them again.

5. Parkfield Gale Insulation

Website: https://truteam.com
Address: 2365 Scioto Harper Dr
Contact: (614) 263-9378
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
As one of the nation’s biggest installers of thermal products, this large firm offers smooth, end-to-end service. Parkfield Gale Insulation is backed by its parent company, TopBuild.
Their team runs every phase of the job. They handle the materials and logistics, plus the install and the quality checks.
They work as a handy one-stop shop, too. They install fireplaces, garage doors, closet shelving, and shower doors. So a busy homeowner juggling a lot at once will find their wide service list useful.
Just know one limit. Their structural and home upgrade installs cover only the immediate Columbus area, which leaves outlying homes out of luck.
Customer Review
Knowledgeable crew, courteous, and efficient service
Had a great experience with Gale insulation. Nick was so knowledgable and helpful in explaining our options, and the installation crew couldn’t have been more courteous and efficient. They knew I was concerned about our cat getting out so they used a window instead of a door and filled the rest of the opening with their jackets to make sure he wouldn’t get out. They covered everything they could with plastic and cleaned up as much as they could after they were done with a room.
