The Best Coworking Spaces in Columbus for Freelancers and Startups

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Service Range: We looked closely at the variety of workspace options each facility provides to accommodate different working styles. A strong coworking space should offer everything from flexible hot desks to private offices and meeting rooms.

Pricing & Packages: We evaluated how affordable and transparent each membership structure feels. Spaces with clear plans, short commitments, and practical day-pass options ranked better.

Specialist Approach: We considered the extras that make each venue stand out beyond basic desks and WiFi. Community events, creative rooms, concierge help, and business support all shaped the final list.

Location & Accessibility: We checked how easy each space is to reach from major Columbus neighborhoods. Parking, commute convenience, and proximity to busy districts made a real difference.

Staff Credentials: We paid attention to how much support members can expect from on-site teams. Helpful community managers and responsive staff can make a shared workspace feel much easier to use.

Working from home is nice, but sometimes you just need to get out of the house to focus. If you want a change of scenery, finding the right spot can completely shift your workflow.

Whether you are a solo freelancer or a small team, Columbus has plenty of shared offices with different atmospheres and price points.

To help make your search easier, we pulled together the best coworking spaces in Columbus, from lively startup hubs to polished downtown offices.

1. COhatch The Gateway

Website: http://www.cohatch.com/l

Address: 1581 N High St

Contact: (614) 324-9220

Hours: 24 Hours

COhatch The Gateway sits right near The Ohio State University, so the energy feels young, busy, and creative without being chaotic.

We like that it goes beyond the usual desk-and-meeting-room setup. It also has specialty spaces like the Podcast Room and Audiophile Room, which are especially useful for media creators.

We spent a few weeks working from this location while formatting an Amazon digital publishing project, and the active atmosphere helped us stay on task.

The meeting rooms can handle groups of four to 25 people, and membership also gives access to other nearby COhatch spots.

The main tradeoff is the campus-adjacent vibe. It’s great for students, startups, and solo professionals, but companies that want a quieter corporate setting may find it a little too casual.

Pros

  • Unique Audiophile and Podcast rooms
  • Meeting rooms for up to 25 people
  • Access to nearby COhatch locations
  • Active community for startups

Cons

  • Markets to a very young demographic
  • Lacks a traditional corporate atmosphere

Open and welcoming

Having a small office here at Gateway is amazing. The space is clean, bright, open and welcoming. The hospitality of Jaime is incredible, personal and generous. As a solo Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) practitioner it’s so connecting to see familiar faces each week and have enjoyable interactions in the common areas. Highly recommend!

Awesome place to spend the work day

I have been a member of the Gateway COhatch for almost a year. Everything about my experience has far exceeded my expectations. Jamie is great! Always there to greet you and has been extremely helpful anytime I needed assistance. All around an awesome place to spend the work day!

2. Qwirk Columbus Coworking

Website: https://qwirkcolumbus.com/

Address: 341 S. 3rd St., Suite 100

Contact: (614) 333-5389

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Qwirk Columbus Coworking feels like a low-pressure downtown option for people who want a real workspace without getting trapped in a long lease.

The free Friday test drive is a smart touch because you can actually try the space before committing. We also appreciate the free on-site parking, which is a big deal downtown and makes daily commuting less annoying.

The pet-friendly setup gives the place a relaxed feel, and the month-to-month membership structure keeps things simple for freelancers or small teams still figuring out their schedule.

The catch is access. If you choose the part-time flexible desk plan, you’re limited to regular business hours, so it will not work as well for night owls or anyone who needs continuous entry.

Pros

  • Free Friday test drive
  • Free onsite parking
  • Welcoming pet-friendly policy
  • Simple month-to-month commitments

Cons

  • Part-time access is not continuous
  • Restricted to standard business hours

Very satisfied with their services

I have been using their coworking space nearly 2 yrs. & very satisfied with their services. Great coworking space in columbus region. You are close to many companies and you have your own personal office at downtown columbus. Highly recommended !!

My favourite place

Qwirk Coworking is my favourite place where I can do my work without any distraction. There are so many things which I like about Qwirk like the creative vibe, amazing conference rooms, etc. Even, the staff is very much supportive.

3. Versa Coworking

Website: https://versa.works/

Address: 1201 Dublin Rd

Contact: (614) 639-3293

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Versa Coworking is a strong pick if you want a more polished workspace that still feels warm and easy to use. If you’re comparing office spaces in Columbus, this one stands out for its riverfront patios, premium interiors, and full-time concierge support.

We booked one of their meeting rooms to map out a new e-commerce project, and having staff handle workspace logistics and audio-visual setup took a lot of pressure off the day.

The onsite maintenance supervisor also gives the building a well-kept, professional feel.

The downside is the day-pass setup. Casual drop-in users only get access on weekdays, and the tight 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM window may feel limiting if you work outside standard hours.

Pros

  • Scenic outdoor riverfront patios
  • Experienced on-site maintenance supervisor
  • Full-time dedicated concierge staff
  • Highly flexible meeting room memberships

Cons

  • Day passes are limited to weekdays
  • Drop-in access is limited to 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Make the time to visit

Excellent location, big space (3 floors), with lots of room to move around for work and conversation. Grateful for Jennifer and Michael’s enthusiasm and assistance. If you’re looking for a coworking space, make the time to visit this location in person.

Versa coworking is best-in-class. Fantastic staff, beautiful space, and great snacks/ amenities. There was even Special events like wine tasting, bagel breakfasts and fresh cookies while I was there. One of the best coworking spaces anywhere!

Website: https://www.wework.com/buildings/800-n-high-st–columbus

Address: 800 N High Street, Columbus, OH 43215

Contact: +1 614 636 5017

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

WeWork’s North High Street location works well if you want a polished space in the middle of the Short North Arts District.

It feels especially useful for people who mostly rely on virtual offices in Columbus but still need a physical desk or meeting area now and then.

The Wellness Room, private Parents’ Room, dog-friendly setup, and outdoor terraces make the space feel more flexible than a basic shared office.

We also like that on-site valet parking removes some of the stress from commuting into a busy neighborhood.

The drawbacks are mostly amenity-related. There is no on-site barista or cafe, and drivers with electric vehicles will not find charging stations here.

Pros

  • Private and lockable Parents’ Room
  • Serene dedicated Wellness Room
  • Beautiful landscaped outdoor spaces
  • Convenient onsite valet parking

Cons

  • No onsite barista or cafe
  • No electric vehicle charging stations

Nice areas to work in

New job which is 100% work from home & my manager is in a different state. This was great to be able to sit in the same place to go over some questions on how to navigate a new system. Nice areas to work in. The coffee and tea bars were great. Everything you need for an office setting.

So many amenities

Love this space. Clean bright and airy. So many amenities: cappuccino, coffee, cold brew, kambucha. Reasonably priced. Conference space and “phone” closets available. Brock and Katie are bubbly and helpful. This is 100% change from trying to work from home, alone, and without a good desk setup.

5. THRIVE | Coworking

thrive-coworking-logo

Website: https://workatthrive.com/columbus/

Address: 470 W Broad St

Contact: (614) 219-9926

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

THRIVE | Coworking puts a lot of emphasis on community, which makes it a good fit for startups and growing teams that want more than a desk.

The dedicated community manager helps keep daily operations organized, while regular educational events create natural chances to meet other members.

We also like the digital mailbox service because it gives small businesses a professional address without forcing them into a traditional office lease.

The move-in-ready private offices are practical for teams that need to scale quickly, and the space also supports reliable wireless internet (WiFi) for everyday work.

The limitation is flexibility. Since THRIVE focuses heavily on pre-designed collaborative suites, teams hoping to build a highly customized headquarters may find the layout options too narrow.

Pros

  • Scalable move-in-ready private offices
  • Comprehensive digital mailbox service
  • Dedicated onsite community manager
  • Strong schedule of educational events

Cons

  • Focuses strictly on pre-designed suites

Love working in this beautiful space

Cova is a great space if you’re looking for a place to work and get out of the house! The location is close to a variety of things to do after a day off work and it is super inviting with lots of natural light and open spaces. Call rooms and meeting rooms are also available which I don’t always see in many coworking spaces. Love working in this beautiful space, always seem to have a productive day.

Lots of places to sit

This is SUCH a cool space! Combining a coworking space with childcare is truly genius. They currently have a 7 day trial. Strong wireless internet (WiFi), lots of places to sit. I love the fresh plants and the books around. Free coffee for members and snacks for purchase. Highly recommend
