The 5 Best Saunas in Columbus for Relaxation and Detox

best-sauna-columbus
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Service Range: We looked closely at the different heat and recovery services each facility offers. Locations with saunas, steam rooms, cold plunges, showers, or wellness add-ons scored higher.

Pricing and Packages: We considered whether each spot offers flexible options for one-time visits, memberships, or packages. The best choices make it easier to match your budget and visit frequency.

Heat Style and Specialty: Traditional cedar rooms, infrared suites, steam rooms, and wood-fired setups all create different experiences. We weighed each location based on how clearly it delivers its main style of sauna therapy.

Location and Accessibility: A relaxing visit should not feel like a logistical headache. We paid attention to neighborhood convenience, booking style, and whether the setup works for casual visitors or regular members.

Customer Experience: The overall atmosphere matters just as much as the heat itself. We favored places that feel clean, welcoming, organized, and easy to settle into once you arrive.

Finding time to truly unwind can feel impossible when your schedule is packed. We all need a safe place to pause, breathe, and shake off everyday stress, and a warm sauna session can be one of the easiest ways to do that.

Hours: Open 24 hours

Stepping into a space that has prioritized men’s health and wellness for over fifty years brings a profound sense of comfort.

Club Columbus operates as an inclusive, private men’s club dedicated to providing a safe community space for relaxation and recovery.

Because it functions as a private organization, membership is strictly required for entry. This means you can’t just drop in for a casual one-time visit.

But if you’re willing to join, the amenities are truly impressive and cater to a full day of self-care. It’s a fantastic environment for those seeking a consistent, community-focused retreat.

We actually spoke with a long-time member recently who praised the traditional dry cedar sauna and the luxurious steam room. He also loved finishing his workouts in the full-range gym before taking a dip in the seasonal heated outdoor pool.

Pros

  • Traditional dry cedar sauna
  • Access to a full-range gym
  • Steam room, hot tub, and seasonal pool
  • Private dressing rooms and showers

Cons

  • Membership required for entry

Very friendly and knowledgeable

Great place. Swimming pool in the summer. Hot tub, sauna and steam room all year round. Dark room for fun. Pricing is comparable to other places. Excellent staff, especially night shift. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

Hot steam to dry sauna

The staff here are professional and very prompt. They are open all hours so you never know what is going on. From hot steam to dry sauna this place is relaxing, paired with the pool and hot tub tons of eye candy.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Recovery feels much more effective when you can alternate between intense heat and refreshing cold.

SweatHouz specializes exclusively in contrast therapy. They provide fully private suites that seamlessly combine full-spectrum infrared saunas and invigorating cold plunges.

The privacy allows you to personalize your session and relax completely without any outside distractions.

The only downside is that if you want to bring a friend along for a shared wellness experience, you will have to pay an additional fee.

However, the dedicated space makes it incredibly easy to unwind at your own pace. Each suite even includes a Vitamin C shower for a refreshing post-sweat rinse before you head back into the city.

With unused sessions rolling over for thirty days on monthly memberships, it’s a highly convenient option for maintaining a steady recovery routine.

Cons

Super clean

Love this place. Charity and Liv are amazing. Shoutout to them. Super clean, very professional, and the sauna and cold plunge are great. A membership is totally worth it if you want to make it part of your routine. Such a good way to relax and de-stress.

Atmosphere was relaxing

Amazing spa experience! The red-light sauna, cold plunge, and Vitamin C shower left me feeling completely refreshed and energized. The entire space was spotless, the staff were exceptional, and the atmosphere was relaxing from start to finish. Highly recommend!

3. LÖ-LU Nordic Sauna

lo-lu-nordic-sauna

Website: https://lo-lu.com/

Address: 1408 S. 4th Street

Contact: +16144075487

Hours: By appointment

LÖ-LU Nordic Sauna is the spot we would send someone to if they wanted a sauna experience that feels rustic, social, and genuinely different.

Founded by sauna enthusiast Wade Litt, it brings a wood-fired Finnish-style sauna to Columbus inside a converted 1987 bread truck.

The heat reaches a traditional 180 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, so the sweat session feels intense in the best way.

We booked one of the two-hour community sessions and liked how naturally the conversations flowed between rounds of heat and cold plunge time.

The setup is not ideal for every group, though. The main truck comfortably fits up to ten people, and parties larger than fifteen may need to use an outdoor tent.

You also have to plan ahead because visits are by appointment.

Pros

  • Authentic wood-fired heating
  • Focuses heavily on social connection
  • Fits ten people comfortably
  • Convenient on-site lockers

Cons

  • Tents required for parties over fifteen
  • Available by appointment only

I am going back

Nothing quite like this experience in Columbus. As Wade is growing his business I would encourage to visit now before it explodes. It’s a social experience and I have enjoyed each session of new sauna participants. The addition of the cold plunge is great to balance to temps. I am going back next weekend for session #4!!!

Such a lovely experience

Wade and his family have curated such a good environment here through his natural skills in acts of service and conversation. The sauna itself is such a lovely experience while feeling genuinely cared for at the same time. I feel like going consistently through the winter helped with my depression and adapticity to the cold. There is always something to take away from the sauna talks.. the good and the bad but at the end of the day interacting with folks is so important. It is a reminder of the importance of community.

4. Ebb & Float

ebb-float

Website: http://ebbfloat.com/

Address: 231 North 5th St

Contact: (614) 826 2154

Hours: Monday, Wednesday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 9:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday, 9:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Ebb & Float works well if you want an infrared sauna session that feels calm, private, and easy to customize. The space operates as a social wellness club, but its full-spectrum infrared saunas still give you a quiet room to reset on your own.

What stood out to us is the choice of more than ten chromotherapy, or light therapy, options. That makes the spot especially good if you’re going in to decompress after a long week.

The fully stocked private shower rooms are another nice touch, and optional halotherapy upgrades make it easy to pair services.

Just watch your timing. Appointment changes within twenty-four hours are treated as late cancellations, so it’s better for people who can commit to their schedule.

If you’re preparing for appointments at various aesthetic clinics in Columbus, clearing your pores in this heat can also feel like a useful pre-treatment step.

Pros

  • Customizable light therapy options
  • Optional halotherapy upgrades
  • Fully stocked private showers
  • Easy cold plunge pairings

Cons

  • Strict late cancellation policy
  • Less ideal for last-minute schedule changes

Peaceful atmosphere with friendly helpful staff

Peaceful atmosphere with friendly helpful staff! Went for a sauna and cold plunge and they threw in a free session in their massage chair. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking the services they offer.

Great experience

Came from out of town, had a great experience for a one-time thing. If I lived in the city I’d visit much more! Comfy waiting room, private sauna with robes and towels and a shower. Wish I would have more time to try the float chambers.

5. Panacea Luxury Spa

panacea-luxury-spa

Website: https://panacealuxuryspa.com/

Address: 2130 Quarry Trails Dr Suite 300

Contact: (614) 324-7777

Hours: Monday, Wednesday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Tuesday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Panacea Luxury Spa is the most polished option on this list if you want your sauna visit to feel like a full spa escape.

Its amenities include Himalayan salt saunas, eucalyptus steam rooms, and other therapeutic services, all inside a setting built for quiet recovery. This is best for people who want a higher-end, screen-free retreat rather than a quick sauna stop.

We like that they enforce a strict no-phone and low-noise policy because it makes the whole visit feel more intentional. Pairing heat therapy with a customized massage also makes sense if you want to leave feeling fully reset.

The catch is access. You need either an Amenities Day Pass or more than one hundred dollars in other services to use the heat rooms, and only three day passes are available per day.

Pros

  • Himalayan salt sauna access
  • Customized massage pairings
  • Access to holistic therapies
  • Strict low-noise policy

Cons

  • Requires a day pass or high spend
  • Day passes limited to three daily

Nice and toasty

Cranberry Crush Facial and day pass were great. My favorite was the stem room and facial. The facial included a face/shoulder/arm and hand massage. The steam sauna was nice and toasty, perfect for winter!

Our favorite was the dry sauna

My daughter and I had a great time at your spa. We loved the amenities. Our favorite was the dry sauna. I struggled with the cold plunge, but it was a unique experience. My massage with Kaylee was one of the best I have ever had. She listened, and worked out some knots in my neck. We enjoyed some yummy cocktails and the relaxing swings. Overall it was a delight and a great time for us to bond.
