We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Local Experience: We looked for teams with deep roots in the Ohio area. Knowing how to handle our freezing winters and humid summers is a non-negotiable trait for any contractor.

Warranty Coverage: A great installation means nothing if it isn’t backed by a solid guarantee. We prioritized businesses offering comprehensive long-term warranties on both parts and labor.

Installation Standards: Craftsmanship is everything when it comes to keeping the weather out. We focused on companies that use certified installers and rigorous post-job checklists.

Service Range: Homeowners have different needs, from quick repairs to total home overhauls. We selected contractors who offer a versatile mix of frame materials and project capabilities.

Taking on a massive home upgrade is stressful, but finding a contractor with a highly integrated installation system can take a lot of the edge off. Window Nation Columbus uses specific high-performance foam and exterior sealants to guarantee a superior seal against the erratic Ohio weather.

They’re also known for engineering their glass packages specifically for our Midwest climate, which means you won’t have to worry about freezing drafts in January.

I actually had a friend use them for a full home replacement last year, and the one-day turnaround they pulled off was genuinely impressive to watch. They also have a massive customization range, making it easy to match strict HOA (Homeowners Association) requirements.

Just keep in mind that they strictly handle full replacements and don’t offer minor glass repairs for existing frames.

Pros

  • Fully transferable lifetime warranty
  • Rigorous 20-point installation review
  • Most projects finished in one day
  • Highly experienced installation teams

Cons

  • No minor glass repairs offered
  • Requires full in-home consultation

Window Nation did an amazing job! Brandon Schwab was our sales consultant and he was extremely knowledgeable. He listened do our needs and made suggestions that we ultimately went with and love. The installation team was very professional and really skilled at what they do. Amazing job to the entire team and I couldn’t recommend them enough!!!

We were highly satisfied with Window Nation. The price was reasonable, the process of getting the measurements and installation was smooth and easy. I was highly impressed with the installation, as the workers were very efficient and hard working.

2. McCloud Windows

Address: 2056 Polaris Pkwy, Columbus, OH 43240

Contact: (614) 984-6322; [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Saturday: 9 AM–7 PM

Stopping indoor drafts completely requires excellent weatherproofing, and McCloud Windows uses a proprietary triple protection seal designed to create a total barrier between your living room and the outdoors.

They source their materials straight from local Ohio manufacturers, ensuring the products have a proven track record in our specific climate. They also operate on an educational sales model, so you can expect a relaxed chat about your options rather than a high-pressure pitch.

Every installer on their team brings at least a decade of experience to the job, which provides great peace of mind for nervous homeowners.

On the downside, their catalog is heavily focused on vinyl, so you’ll need to look elsewhere if you really want natural wood frames.

Also, before they even start, you might want to look into a home inspection to check for any underlying wall damage.

Pros

  • True lifetime product warranty
  • High-grade weather-tight caulking
  • Fast one to two-day turnaround
  • Flexible long-term financing plans

Cons

  • Little to no natural wood frames
  • In-person quote strictly required

Customer Reviews

The windows were reasonably priced for triple pane windows. Extremely satisfied. From my first call to the office, a sales rep call and scheduled appointment, measurements and installation. The installers were great. I cannot say enough about the quality of the windows. Highly recommend McCloud Windows.

Very happy with our window installs. Todd from sales was great to work with. He was knowledgeable and understanding with changes we were making right up to the point of ordering. After multiple quotes, McCloud had the best prices without sacrificing quality.

Installation was done by Brad and Brad. I can’t say enough good things about those guys. Always cheerful, seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I was impressed by how efficient they were. Thanks again, we love the windows.

3. Rosati Windows

rosati-windows

Website: https://rosatiwindows.com/

Address: 4200 Roberts Rd, Columbus, OH 43228

Contact: (614) 777-4806

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 AM–5 PM, Saturday by appointment only

Dealing directly with a manufacturer cuts out a lot of headaches, which is why it’s great that Rosati Windows actually builds their products right in their local factory.

They’re heavily guided by their founder, providing a direct line of accountability from the production floor all the way to your living room. Because they own the production line, they can handle deep customizations in colors and textures that standard brands usually struggle to match.

When I reached out to them for a custom frame quote, dealing directly with the factory team instead of a middleman made the whole process incredibly smooth.

However, they’re strictly focused on Central Ohio, meaning their localized support won’t help you if your property is further out. Also, you’ll need to schedule a full in-home estimate since they don’t offer ballpark pricing online.

Pros

  • Built locally for Ohio weather
  • Solid lifetime service warranty
  • Thorough post-job assessment list
  • Offers both wood and vinyl

Cons

  • No instant online pricing available
  • Service area is strictly limited

Customer Reviews

Had two double hung windows side by side. All the seals failed, and we replaced the glass once since house build in 9yrs at time of replacement. These windows face west in the direction of all the wind, rain & snow for 9 years. ROSATI replaced that window in 2012 and it has held up fine for 12yrs. Just replaced the rest of 24 remaining windows in Sept 2023. Look and work great. Only had one lock issue and Rosati is coming after Christmas to fix the problem. Update problem fixed, simple problem.

We had Rosati install new custom windows in the “old part of the house” to replace our existing 100+ year old windows, and had them back to install matching sized windows in our new addition! Great company, great product, great service and really happy with the price considering our “custom” sizes!

They stand out by offering round-the-clock emergency response, which is a lifesaver if a massive storm shatters your glass at midnight. They even have a unique drop-off service for broken glass, letting you fix smaller issues quickly without booking a full house call.

Unlike many competitors pushing for full replacements, they actually prioritize repairing your existing frames to extend their lifespan.

If you happen to be tackling a major renovation that involves tearing down old walls along with the glass, you should definitely book a dumpster rental beforehand.

Just be aware that their premium craftsmanship comes with a higher price tag, so they might not fit the tightest of budgets.

Pros

  • Certified high-precision installation team
  • Handles large commercial properties
  • Convenient financial upgrade plans
  • Wide variety of frame materials

Cons

  • Premium pricing for higher quality

Skipping temporary subcontractors in favor of an entirely in-house team guarantees a much higher level of consistent craftsmanship across the board. Window Gurus excels in this area, bringing nearly two decades of localized expertise to older properties that need delicate historical restorations.

They even earned top honors in a recent independent industry audit for their strict commitment to service quality and honest price transparency.

Offering a lifetime warranty specifically on the installation gives property owners long-term security against future leaks or draft issues. Their repair-first mentality can also save you thousands by simply fixing rotted frames instead of pushing for a total replacement.

However, their weekday-only schedule can be a bit of a hurdle if you work long hours and need a weekend appointment.

Pros

  • Affordable repair-first business model
  • Skilled in historical wood restoration
  • Active local community involvement
  • Fully insured with BBB (Better Business Bureau) accreditation

Cons

  • Closed on the weekends
