Searching for fresh inspiration is easy when a shop like Sew To Speak consistently brings in beautiful new materials every single week. Beyond maintaining a welcoming environment, highlighting the LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual) and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities, they cover a huge variety of fiber arts.
I recently spoke directly with a fellow crafter who raved about their extensive yarn selection and structured classes.
They are also skilled specialists for the Juki brand, offering servicing and machines that are difficult to find at major retailers. Keep in mind that their return policies are quite strict, giving you a very narrow window to report order issues. Additionally, any yarn you wish to bring back absolutely cannot be wound or altered from its original condition.

Sweet little boutique shop tucked away in an old school building. Nice selection of quilting & craft fabrics – with some apparel fabrics as well – grateful to see this, since JoAnn’s is no more, and few stores carry apparel fabric now. Be sure to LOOK UP “SewToSpeak” or you’ll have a hard time seeing it from the street… their only signage is in the window, behind a large tree!

Amazing Selection of High Quality Fabrics
Friendly, friendly, friendly fabric and yarn shop on the square in old Worthington. As a quilter , I went for the fabrics. Amazing selection. Not the standard stuff, which is what I wanted. Fabric lines carried are the amazing, newer designs by high quality companies. They also have difficult to find current designers. Staff is SO friendly. Highly recommend!

Sew To Speak is a popular fiber arts shop that keeps things fresh by regularly rotating in new fabrics, yarns, and creative supplies each week. It’s especially known for its welcoming, community-focused atmosphere and its strong support of LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC makers.
Beyond retail, it functions a lot like a learning hub too. A fellow crafter I spoke with mentioned how helpful their structured classes are, especially for people trying to build skills in knitting, sewing, or other fiber arts.
The yarn selection in particular gets a lot of praise for being both broad and well-curated.
They also stand out for their expertise with Juki machines, including servicing and access to models that can be hard to find at bigger chain stores.
The main drawbacks are policy-related. Returns are tightly controlled, with a short window for reporting issues. Yarn must also be completely unused and unwound to qualify for return.
Great Selection of Fabric, Wool, and Kits
This shop and it’s owners are wonderful. There is a great selection of quilting fabric, and the wool selection and pricing are not found anywhere else in central Ohio. Lots of great wool kits too which most shops don’t carry. The owners are accommodating, and friendly, and willing to help you search for what you need for your next project. Intimate Shop with Patterns and Kits
Smaller more intimate shop with lots of samples and fabric colors. Amazing how much they packed into the shop but not a whole lot of precuts. Lots of patterns and kits, which I love. Will go here again when I want a wool project to start!

The shop uses oversized computerized longarm quilting frames. This helps handle large blankets and quilts with precision and consistency.
They also carry beautifully dyed wool sold directly off the bolt, making it a go-to spot for fabric selection as well as finishing work.
One of the co-owners brings strong pattern drafting experience, so there are ready-made options available for customers who prefer guidance or pre-designed pieces instead of starting from scratch.
That said, they don’t take on full custom quilt construction commissions. They also don’t offer repair or mending services for damaged items. If a quilt is torn or needs restoration, you’ll need to look elsewhere.
This shop is really more about creation and finishing than fixing or rebuilding.

Great little shop. Plenty of blenders, small selection of flannels, moderate amount of batiks, and a very small selection of baby/children prints. There are many notions, books, ByAnnie patterns & supplies, as well as quilt patterns.
