We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Inventory Quality: We assessed the durability and construction standards of the available gear. Sturdy materials matter when equipment has to withstand intense training sessions without breaking down quickly.

Pricing Options: We looked at the balance between premium retail items and cost-effective pre-owned gear. Flexible price points help both budget-conscious home buyers and commercial investors find something realistic.

Installation Support: Moving heavy racks and complex cable systems can turn risky fast without the right help. We checked whether each supplier offers delivery, setup, or logistics support that can make the process safer.

Customer Service: Knowledgeable staff can make a big difference when you are planning a gym layout or choosing machines for a specific training style. We favored suppliers that offer practical guidance, consultations, or direct support after purchase.

Pushing your physical limits requires the right tools to support your journey.

Setting up a new training space demands quality gear to handle intense daily use, whether you’re a dedicated fitness enthusiast building a garage gym or a facility owner outfitting a commercial space.

Finding the best fitness equipment in Columbus does not have to be a frustrating hurdle. We explored the local market to highlight reliable suppliers offering everything from heavy-duty power racks to specialized cardio machines.

Keep reading to discover where you can secure the perfect gear to fuel your next training session and conquer those ambitious fitness goals.

Upgrading a corporate wellness center or private club takes equipment that can survive daily use.

G&G Fitness Equipment – Columbus works well for that because it has been a full-service provider since 1990. They focus on outfitting commercial spaces, private clubs, and multi-family housing gyms.

We visited their showroom while sourcing gear for local personal trainers, and the hands-on testing helped a lot. Being able to compare heavy cardio machines in person makes a major purchase feel less risky.

They also have factory-certified technicians and an in-house repair department, which is reassuring if you are planning a facility that cannot afford long downtime.

The catch is the premium focus. Casual shoppers looking for cheap starter gear may find the showroom prices a little hard to justify.

Pros

  • Guided virtual shopping demonstrations
  • Dedicated in-house repair department
  • Extensive showroom equipment variety
  • Strict stock of premium fitness brands

Cons

  • High barrier to entry for budget shoppers

Great company communication

I recently purchased a treadmill from G and G fitness in Columbus. It has proven to be an excellent piece of equipment for my needs. I was originally frustrated with a software compatibilty problem and posted three stars. An unexpected phone call follow up by Kaden this am requires a new five star rating for the company. Great company communication.

Overall, this was an excellent experience

I would highly recommend, without reservation, purchasing fitness equipment from G & G Fitness. Our sales professional, Luke Frollini, was incredible! He was very informative, courteous and not pushy at all. It seemed like his main goals were to make sure that we had a great experience in his store and that we would be confident concerning our purchase. He gave us a great deal on our exercise bike! Overall, this was an excellent experience!

2. Dimond Fitness Equipment

Address: 3915 Zane Trace Drive

Contact: (614) 595-1289

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Warehouse Hours, By Appointment Only

Starting a new training facility can drain a budget quickly, so Dimond Fitness Equipment is a strong fit for buyers who want commercial-grade gear without paying full retail on every piece.

The company specializes in new and pre-owned equipment and facility outfitting. They also offer equipment installations, servicing, and gym consulting.

What we like most is how practical the support feels. Their team can help with appraisals, removals, trade-ins, and layout planning. This is useful when you’re opening a small gym or upgrading an existing training room.

That local lifecycle support makes the business feel more accountable than a distant online seller.

The main drawback is access. Since it operates from a working logistics warehouse, you cannot just walk in and browse whenever you feel like it.

Pros

  • Dedicated installation and logistics crews
  • Direct relationship with the local owner
  • Comprehensive facility design and outfitting
  • Capital recovery through equipment liquidation

Cons

  • Restricted warehouse showroom access
  • Requires an appointment to browse inventory

Highly recommended

Had an amazing experience with Dimond Fitness Equipment setting up a customized home gym. Mike is extremely communicative & detailed on every aspect of the process – from timing of delivery to what is in stock. He has a unique eye for gym layouts as well and is my go-to for recommendations on materials & brands. Highly recommend!

Reasonable cost

A great place to pick up used fitness equipment at incredible prices. All equipment is commercial grade, just outside its warranty period. We picked up a treadmill at all 90% of original retail. Mike runs a good business, and can arrange shipping at a reasonable cost.

3. Health and Fitness Equipment Centers

Hours: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Maximizing floor space in a large recreation center takes more than picking machines from a catalog.

Health and Fitness Equipment Centers stand out for tailored design solutions. They’re especially great for commercial wellness spaces, schools, medical facilities, and larger home gym projects.

Their turnkey setup is the big advantage. They can help with three-dimensional floor plans, equipment selection, installation, financing, and preventative maintenance.

Here, the process feels less scattered for facility managers.

We also like that their catalog includes both new premium equipment and inspected pre-owned options. That gives buyers more room to manage cost without immediately sacrificing durability.

However, their structured commercial approach can feel like too much if you only need one treadmill or a quick set of dumbbells.

Pros

  • Highly structured equipment financing options
  • Professional setup for complex cable machines
  • Preventative maintenance contracts available
  • Broad experience outfitting niche industries

Cons

  • Overwhelming scale for casual single buyers
  • Limited weekly operating schedule

4. BODYCRAFT Fitness

Contact: (800) 990-5556 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday, By Appointment Only

BODYCRAFT Fitness makes sense for buyers who care about direct manufacturing standards and long-term support.

They’ve been operating as a direct manufacturer since 1994. They design functional trainers and strength systems that aim to follow natural body movement for lifting, conditioning, and rehabilitation-style use.

A friend who manages several local pilates studios sourced some of their cable machines and liked the smooth feel of the equipment.

The direct Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) warranty support also made the purchase feel less stressful. Their in-house engineering team is a real advantage if you want technical answers without going through layers of resellers.

The major downside is their rigid corporate operating hours, which completely prevent busy professionals from physically testing the equipment on weekends.

Pros

  • Direct access to the factory outlet store
  • Swift technical troubleshooting from engineers
  • Seamless integration with wearable technology
  • Commercial-grade stability for residential gear

Cons

  • Rigid corporate operating hours
  • Difficult to test equipment during weekends

I absolutely love the company

Originally purchased in 2021 and a little more than a year later moved and setup again, the guys who originally delivered and setup and setup the second time was amazing, I absolutely love the company. Alan was also awesome whey visited the store on a sat and inquired about purchasing and then went back to actually do the purchasing.

Built to last. Love it.

Fantastic service! One of their dealers wasn’t the greatest and the people at the home office reached out on their own time and made sure I was taken care of properly, stand up company! And the equipment is great, my whole home gym is Bodycraft. Built to last. Love it.

5. Play it Again Sports Reynoldsburg

Website: https://playitagainsports.com/

Address: 6011 E Main St.

Contact: (614) 868-0018

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Play it Again Sports Reynoldsburg is the most approachable option on this list if you want affordable gear without committing to a full commercial purchase.

Its buy-and-sell model lets locals trade used fitness equipment for cash, which keeps the sales floor stocked with rotating pre-owned hardware.

That setup is especially useful if you are building a home gym slowly and do not mind checking back for deals. You might find weights, benches, cardio pieces, or general sporting goods at prices far below standard retail.

We also like the community feel, including neighborhood services such as custom high school apparel printing.

The downside is predictability. Because inventory depends on local trade-ins, finding a specific elliptical model or a perfectly matched dumbbell set can take patience.

Pros

  • Local delivery services for heavy hardware
  • Constantly rotating pre-owned equipment
  • Specialized repair for general sporting goods
  • Consistent extended retail hours every day

Cons

  • Highly unpredictable daily inventory selection
  • Difficult to locate specific machine models

I found so many DEALS on things

Great place to find used sport equipment, I went in thinking the prices would be outrageous but they were not at all, end up spending more money than I originally intended but only cause I found so many DEALS on things
