Best Eyewear Shops in Columbus for Stylish Frames and Clear Vision

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Frame Quality and Selection: We looked at the durability, fit, and style variety of frames each shop offers. Stores with a good balance of classic staples and trendier designs stood out more.

Value for Money: We compared prices against lens quality, frame construction, and service. Transparent pricing mattered because nobody wants surprise add-ons at checkout.

Customer Service Experience: We paid attention to how helpful and patient the optical staff seemed during fittings, exams, and adjustments. Shops with licensed professionals who explain options clearly ranked better.

Turnaround Time: We considered how quickly customers could receive finished glasses or repairs. Fast service helped, but only when it didn’t come at the expense of communication or quality.

Taking care of your health can look different from week to week. Sometimes that means booking a massage or trying a reiki session, but vision correction is a daily essential.

Finding the best eyewear in Columbus comes down to more than picking a frame that looks good for a few minutes in the mirror. You need clear lenses, a comfortable fit, honest guidance, and styles that make sense for your budget.

I narrowed this list to local optical shops that balance design, service, price, and practical turnaround times.

How much does eyewear cost in Columbus?

Getting fitted for new glasses in Columbus usually costs $95 to $400+, depending on whether you choose budget bundles, standard prescriptions, or designer frames with specialized lenses.

1. The Optical. Co

Website: https://theopticalco.com/

Address: 870 N High St

Contact: (614) 477-9229

Hours: Monday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM; Tuesday-Friday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Saturday, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The Optical. Co feels like the kind of boutique you visit when you want glasses that look intentional, not pulled from a generic wall.

Their collection is curated around stylish, well-crafted frames, and that makes browsing less overwhelming than walking into a huge chain.

When I stopped in last year, a licensed optical professional walked me through different shapes and fits without rushing the process. That relaxed guidance made the store feel more like a styling appointment than a quick errand.

The pricing also sits in that accessible-luxury lane, so it works for shoppers who want quality without going straight into ultra-premium territory.

The main drawback is turnaround. Some buyers have waited several weeks for lenses and didn’t always get proactive updates, so this is better if you’re not in a hurry.

Pros

  • Curated, stylish collections
  • High-quality lens craftsmanship
  • Consultations with licensed experts
  • Strong community focus

Cons

  •
  • Inconsistent order updates

I’ve loved every pair of glasses

Another fantastic experience at The Optical Co.! Dr. Miller has been my optometrist for several years. He is a wonderful doctor. I’ve never had any issues at his office with him, his employees, or his products. I had an eye issue for the first time today and he quickly diagnosed the problem. I’ve loved every pair of glasses he has made for me. Highly recommended!

He was quick and happy to help

We were in town for a street festival when I put my sunglasses on for the day and felt the screw was loose. I found their storefront, and it was such a blessing to find them open on a Saturday afternoon. I told him the problem, and he was quick and happy to help. He made my day! Thank you.

2. Columbus Eyeworks

Website: https://www.columbuseyeworks.com/

Address: 25 W Hubbard Ave.

Contact: (614) 834-1746

Hours: Tuesday, 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM; Wednesday, 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Thursday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Columbus Eyeworks makes sense if you want an eye care office that feels connected to the neighborhood instead of completely clinical.

The practice blends exams, contact lens fittings, and designer frames with local touches, including collaborations with Columbus artists inside the space.

I liked that the showroom has enough variety for different budgets and style preferences. You can go practical, polished, or a little more expressive without feeling boxed into one look.

The staff also seems especially helpful once you start narrowing down frames, which is where many optical shops can feel rushed.

The catch is the exam pace because some patients felt the lens comparison portion moved too quickly. It may help to speak up if you need extra time choosing between prescriptions.

Pros

  • Deep community integration
  • Comprehensive optical care
  • Wide designer frame variety
  • Highly personalized service

Cons

  • Rushed lens comparisons

Had great deals on their glasses

The eye dr was amazing. He really cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him if you’re looking for an eye dr. The staff was friendly and amazing. The office was very clean. A lot of choices to choose from concerning frames, and they also had great deals on their glasses.

A great stock of frames and sunglasses

An eye exam that exceeded expectations. The team here is a collection of genuine people who enjoy what they are doing. The energy and care taken as I proceeded through the process of an exam and selecting frames was simply delightful. Everyone has a great sense of humor and is focused on the client experience. The exam process was straightforward and quite comprehensive. They also have a great stock of frames and sunglasses, with all the lens tech options one would need. I’m super glad that I wasn’t stuck getting BCGs.

3. SEE Eyewear

Website: https://www.seeeyewear.com/

Address: 4024 The Strand

Contact: (614) 476-6991

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

SEE Eyewear is the spot I would send someone who wants their glasses to feel more like a statement piece.

The brand leans into limited-run, globally sourced frames, so the shelves feel more adventurous than the usual rows of safe shapes and neutral colors.

A colleague of mine picked up a bold, futuristic pair here and kept talking about how different the design felt from anything they had owned before. That rotating inventory is a big part of the appeal.

The tradeoff is that the shopping experience can feel less flexible after the sale. Warranty questions, upgrades, and adjustment requests may take more patience than expected.

Still, if style is your priority, this is one of the most distinctive eyewear stops in Columbus.

Pros

  • Extremely exclusive designs
  • Handcrafted global sourcing
  • Accessible luxury pricing
  • Fashion-forward aesthetic

Cons

  • Post-sale customer service needs improvement

Made the entire experience easy and enjoyable

Michelle and Tiffany at SEE are absolutely AMAZING! They helped my mom pick out her glasses and made the entire experience easy and enjoyable when I picked her glasses up today. So friendly, professional, and attentive. This is what exceptional customer service looks like. Highly recommend! THANK YOU LADIES

Quality products and even better people

This eyewear store is the best!! All employees are super kind and helpful! I come here for my eye exams and the doctor is very sweet and answers all of my questions. I have very good eye sight but they allow me to use my small prescription towards sunglasses, which my insurance pays for it!! Quality products and even better people!!

4. Eyemart Express

Website: https://eyemartexpress.com/

Address: 4030 Morse Rd

Contact: (614) 478-9400

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Saturday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Eyemart Express is a practical choice when you need affordable glasses without turning the process into a long project.

The Morse Road location is especially useful for families managing several prescriptions because the pricing stays approachable, and turnaround can be very fast.

I like that you can usually walk in, get an exam, pick frames, and leave with a clearer plan in one visit. That kind of convenience matters when glasses are not optional.

The selection is broad enough for everyday frames, sunglasses, and backup pairs, which makes it a smart stop if you want value over boutique styling.

The downside is the high-volume setup. During busy stretches, staff can seem stretched thin, and occasional system issues may slow down the one-hour promise.

Pros

  • Highly competitive pricing
  • Rapid same-day processing
  • Comprehensive family care
  • Walk-in appointments accepted

Cons

  • Stretched staffing during peaks
  • System network issues

Same day glasses

I had a wonderful experience. I was helped on a timely fashion. I picked the wrong frames for me face. The optician technician told me that is the wrong frames. She picked the correct frames two pairs for $20 more which was fairly affordable. I had such a great experience. Same day glasses with lens it took 15 minutes for one pair and 26 minutes for the second pair. I would recommend all my friends and family to visit eye Mart, you will not be disappointed…. thank you so much God bless

It was a great experience

I was traveling and had a glasses malfunction that left me needing a new pair. The problem was that I was limited on time and needed to keep moving. Maxine was able to help me find the perfect pair. She was very professional and patient with me while I took forever to decide. I actually purchased two pairs (NEW sunglasses) and they were both ready in 19 MINUTES!! Each pair fit great and I was back on the road quickly!  It was a great experience and I will use Eyemart express again in the future.

5. Warby Parker Easton Town Center

Website: https://stores.warbyparker.com/

Address: 4049 The Strand E.

Contact: (614) 569-7923

Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Warby Parker Easton Town Center works well if you want a clean, modern shopping experience with predictable base pricing.

The brand’s direct-to-consumer model keeps many frames more affordable than traditional designer options, and the in-house styles are easy to browse without feeling dated.

I also like the home try-on option because it gives you more time to compare shapes outside the pressure of a store mirror.

At the Easton location, the in-person fittings are helpful, and the staff can guide you toward a pair that feels current without being too trendy.

The main issue is the final price. Add-ons, coatings, or specialized exam needs can push the total higher than expected. Reaching the store directly by phone can also be frustrating.

Pros

  • Socially responsible business model
  • Direct-to-consumer pricing
  • Trendy in-house designs
  • Flexible home try-on

Cons

  • Hidden costs with upgrades
  • Difficult direct store contact

Friendly and knowledgeable

Excellent experience- the easiest time I have ever had buying glasses. Had done some virtual try-ons on the website and was impressed that everything the website said was exactly how it went in the  store. The price- which was way better than what my eye doctor’s office wanted- included all I needed and there was no attempt to upsell me. The person that helped me was so friendly and knowledgeable and the whole process was super simple.

Exceeded my expectations

Great selection; stellar service; friendly environment. Only went in to shop for sunglasses because our adult kids love the brand and have worn the prescription glasses for years. Exceeded my expectations and will now be a go-to.
