A close colleague noticed that her dog sitter recently came back with her pup with extra matted fur and dusty paws.
Wanting to save money, she tried trimming the fur herself. Yet, the uneven patches somehow made the coat harder to maintain.
Knowing that I’ve thrived having a bunch of pets before, she eventually asked me for help finding reliable dog grooming services in Columbus. I compared reviews, grooming styles, and pricing to help her out.
So if you’re also juggling a busy schedule with your furry friends, feel free to check out these handy options to make your life easier.
How much do dog grooming services cost in Columbus?
Dog grooming services in Columbus typically cost between $40 and $100 for standard salon services. However, this range depends on the coat type and condition, matting, special handling, and age.
1. Creature Comforts Grooming

Business Hours:
- Tue-Fri: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Mon: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Sat: 12:00 pm to 6:30 pm
- Sun: Closed
Creature Comforts Grooming is a solid pick for dog grooming in Columbus. For one, they’re known for their cage-free express model. This spot offers 1-on-1 grooming sessions in a calm setup, which we believe beats the rush at bigger chain spots.
We think what’s great about this is that each dog would be groomed without interruption, reducing stress for nervous or senior pets.
Their sibling accommodations seem handy too. If you have multiple pets, they provide a safe, relaxing space for them to wait together off the grooming table.
Plus, it’s convenient that they offer a curated product line of luxury, natural brands for different skin and coat needs. Notable ones are Iv San Bernard, Hydra, and Ayurveda.
We also like that their starting rates are generally competitive for a premium experience. Their full groom starts at $55 for small dogs and ranges from $60 to $65 for specialized doodle services—for mixed breeds with at least 1 poodle parent.
However, they might not always have a groomer available for add-on baths during boarding stays. This leads to hit-or-miss availability for non-stand-alone grooming clients.
My dog felt safe and happy
“My experience was great, but more importantly my dog felt safe and happy. By the time I got there to pick her up after her first ever grooming, she’d made herself at home… which is amazing because she’s usually a nervous little nut, being a rescue. I was beyond thrilled with the job Kathleen did! The pictures show the shaggy “before” and the fluffy trimmed “after.””

2. Oh My Dog!

Address: 2297 Joyce Ave

Business Hours:
- Tue-Sat: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Sun-Mon: Closed
Oh My Dog! delivers straightforward dog grooming with their focus on baths and cuts. The team uses American and Brazilian grooming techniques, which we believe set them apart in the city.
We also find it incredible that they offer personalized grooming for tricky breeds like Wheatens. Basically, their basic and premium washes are known to transform “mops” into “fluff balls.”
Plus, it’s great for us that they have a strong reputation for handling dogs with bad tempers. In our view, this is helpful to pups with high anxiety as well.
Their multilingual support is an advantage too. The staff speaks in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, catering to a diverse local clientele.
This service bases its pricing on your dog’s breed, size, coat condition, and temperament.
While they’re not the cheapest in the city, they’re still slightly more affordable than other high-end options. You can expect their bath and brush services to start around $50 to $65 for small and medium dogs, and their full grooming services to begin at $70 to $85.
Just remember that since they’re a small operation, a client we talked to has experienced difficulty getting a call or text when the staff is busy.
My puppy comes out looking like a superstar
“My puppy Oliver has been going here for almost a year now and has built amazing relationships with the staff and all of his furry friends! Each time he goes to get groomed he comes out looking like a super star! 10/10 would recommend!”
-Abigail Hicks, Google Review
Always super responsive
“A friend shared their page with me on Instagram and I’m so glad they did! I’ve been taking my miniature schnauzer going on a year I’d say. They’re always super responsive when scheduling. My pup comes out looking amazing every time with the signature Schnauzer cut. My dog doesn’t get fidgety or seem to have anxiety when he goes there which leads me to believe they take good care of him. Prices are reasonable compared to other grooming services I’ve used; even with the 2026 increase, they’ve added additional Services which makes it worth it and still comes in slightly under the competition. So overall, I would highly recommend Oh my dog! for grooming services!”

Business Hours:

Mills Family Pet Grooming offers family-run dog grooming with husband-and-wife duo Justin and Tricia Mills. They deliver 1-on-1 grooming for a calm experience, which we think is better than other crowded spots.
With 12 years of combined expertise, their focused care mainly includes deep de-shedding or breed-specific trims. We also love that they’re known for being gentle in handling anxious dogs.
Their belief is to make every visit a stress-free spa day, guided by a passion for animals. This is why they avoid the cage-drying or chaotic kennel atmosphere found in larger retail chains.
And as for their fees, their full-service grooming typically starts around $45 to $55 for toy or small breeds. On the other hand, this can range up to $100 to $150 for extra-large or high-maintenance breeds like doodles.
Locals we spoke with describe these costs as reasonable. They sit in a sweet spot between budget retail chains and upscale spots.
But because they’re a small 2-person team, they can book up weeks in advance. This isn’t a walk-in-friendly shop, so we recommend reaching out as soon as possible if interested.
Always do an amazing job
“Andrea and Tricia always do an amazing job on my Poppy! I appreciate them so much! Highly recommend them for any of your grooming needs!!”

Business Hours:
- Mon-Fri: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
- Sat: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Sun: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
All Paws Retreat is a dog-grooming, daycare, boarding, and training shop. Founded in 2019, they prioritize low-stress spa grooms with natural products and flexible scheduling.
They offer cage-free grooming for daycare and supervised play with customized cuts, baths, and add-ons like shed treatments.
One thing we appreciate is their consideration for anxious or senior dog care. They allow owners to schedule consultations specifically for sensitive pets.
We’re also all for their transparency. Since they have live webcams, owners can easily watch their dogs in daycare rooms from their phones or computers.
This spot uses a time-based or package-based system for many services too. This makes them highly flexible but occasionally more expensive than simple grooming salons.
Nevertheless, their grooming service is quote-based, so you’ll have to reach out directly for an estimate. You can generally expect mid-to-high-end pricing.
However, someone we interviewed found their cancellation fees so strict. If you miss a grooming appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, you’ll be charged a fee based on the time slot—$30 (1 hour), $45 (1.5 hours), or up to $75 for longer sessions.
Everything I could have hoped for my precious pup
“All Paws is everything I could have hoped for for my precious pup Wiggs. Although he’s a bit high maintenance the staff at All Paws always takes the best care of him, gives him breaks when he needs it and stays in great communication with me the entire day. I never have to worry and can concentrate on work while he’s at day care. I also love that any grooming he needs can be scheduled and completed before pick up time. Thank you All Paws Retreat you guys are fabulous!!”

Phenomenal with grooming my puppy boy
“We LOVE All Paws! Tara was amazing with training, and Aaminah is phenomenal with grooming puppy boy (who is very temperamental, but LOVES his time there). We recently tried going to another big groomer for location convenience and immediately went back to All Paws. They’re the only ones I trust with my dog.”

5. The Shaggy Shack

Business Hours:
- Mon-Thu, Sun: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Fri-Sat: Closed
The Shaggy Shack is a fresh, locally owned spot skilled in dog grooming. They focus on breed-tailored care for anxious pups.
Here, the staff often also acts as a second set of eyes for your pet’s health. We like that they’ve been known to identify minor vet issues, such as skin bumps or ear concerns, and explain them well to owners.
And though the owners encourage clients to call or text to set an appointment, we’re stoked that they welcome walk-ins. In our view, this makes them among the most accessible options in the city.
Standard baths here start at around $50 to $75, while full grooms are quote-based at around $75 or higher. This shop is slightly more expensive than basic bath-only spots, but typically more affordable than high-end mobile groomers or luxury options.
In addition, we feel that the inclusion of premium services such as paw pad cleaning and dremeling in the base price adds great value.
Nonetheless, they’re closed on Fridays and Saturdays. We reckon this can be a major hurdle for owners who only have these days available for errands.
