The best places to get bikes today are dedicated bike shops. From traditional bicycles to newer e-bikes, these stores offer some of the best options for traveling on two wheels.
Through visiting a few of them, I’ve gathered my choices for the best bike shops in Columbus. With their services, buying and repairing bikes can be a breeze.
1. Paradise Garage

Founded in 2008, Paradise Garage is owned by husband-and-wife Dan and Emily Monnig. This small shop offers professional bike repairs and fitting services, and I like that the prices are exceptional and not too steep compared to other shops.
Traditional and e-bikes are available at this shop, with a good selection of brands, from the popular Velotric e-bike brand to the traditional Cannondale and IBIS. As for the price, they’re fairly cheap at around $1,499 to $1,799 per bike.
I appreciate the rotating sales on both new and older products at this shop. They also offer used bikes at reduced prices, which I greatly value as a customer.
However, used equipment like helmets tends to be overpriced for their condition, while the used bikes themselves are often a great deal.
Bike repairs and trade-ins are also offered here, and I love that these can even include upgrades of old equipment.

Established in 1974, Bicycle One was once a motorcycle shop that became a full-service bike shop that’s been serving Columbus for decades. Owned by Troy, a bicycle enthusiast, the shop has grown to accommodate more types of bikes.
The shop carries more than 400 bicycles, catering to a wide range of budgets and needs. Its selection includes hybrid bikes, mountain bikes, and popular electric bikes, offering customers plenty of good options.
In addition to bikes, the shop also offers a range of accessories. It includes bells, baskets, and cycling computers, all of which are useful additions for riders.
Apparel is also available here, and I like that they even sell bike cleaner and chain lube—useful items for those who truly want to take care of their bicycles.
They also offer repair services here, and each new bike comes with a complimentary 1 year of repairs.
Just note that they’re located in Gahanna, so it’s slightly far from Columbus itself.

Johnny Velo Bikes has been recognized as America’s Best Bike Shop for over seven consecutive years by the National Bike Dealers Association. The shop stands out for welcoming riders of all ages and experience levels, and for offering bikes that prioritize comfort and fit for each individual.
The shop is equipped to sell bikes and several types of electric vehicles. For bikes, these can come in the form of road bikes, hybrids, and electric ones. I also like that they offer electric mountain bikes, which is a unique and appealing option.
Aside from these, the shop sells a variety of accessories and spare parts, such as eyewear, saddles, and chains. I found these to be excellent options, as they carry brands such as Terry, Aventon, and Ergon.
Johnny Velo also offers e-bike and bike repair services, as well as financing options for those who need them.
However, I found their prices for the regular products to be quite high compared to competitors.

The technician who did the assembly was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a lot of useful info about the bike. “I stopped in to have the torque checked on a new carbon rail saddle installed at home on a bike purchased at Johnny Velo a couple years ago. Trek Bicycle Columbus Dublin offers 24-hour repair services for bikes of any brand. I also appreciate that they provide free accessory installations, along with convenient pick-up and drop-off repair services across the Columbus–Dublin area.
This location offers a wide variety of bikes, which I greatly appreciate. Notable options include city bikes, gravel bikes, and mountain bikes.
Electric bikes are also available here, as well as accessories and apparel. There are also financing options available at this shop, which I highly recommend for spreading payments.
Used bikes are also available here, along with used framesets and significant markdowns, which many customers appreciate.
Still, the store itself closes early and opens late, so be sure to arrive on time when buying bikes.

Franklinton Cycle Works excels at bringing the community together. Their commitment to providing quality service in every customer interaction feels genuine, which is something I truly admire.
Refurbished bikes are their main selling point, but they also sell a variety of new bikes and e-bikes, such as ones from the Batch and Buzz brands.
However, they only have a few new bikes at a time, so I recommend checking their website and social media before heading to the shop.
Still, many customers appreciate the shop’s commitment to sustainability and praise its wide range of customization options.
I also appreciate their Bicycles for Independence program, which helps families facing financial difficulties afford bicycles. It supports the shop’s community-driven mission, and many families have built strong relationships with the team at Franklinton through the program.
