A damaged door is more than an eyesore. It can affect security, comfort, and heating costs fast.
However, finding the best door repair in Columbus can feel like a guessing game when your front entrance sticks, your patio slider won’t latch, or your storefront door suddenly stops closing. It’s terribly frustrating, isn’t it?
To help you out, I looked through local options and focused on contractors that seem practical for real repair needs, from quick hinge adjustments to larger commercial door problems. These are the ones I’d start with when an entryway needs attention!
How much do door repairs cost in Columbus?
Door repairs in Columbus usually range from $85 to $145, with standard fixes averaging around $100 to $130 per project.
| Repair Type | Estimated Cost |
| Minor repairs (sticking doors, small dents) | $15 – $100 |
| Standard repairs (average project cost) | $100 – $130 |
| Major repairs (door frame damage, structural) | $350+ |
1. The Door Company

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Evenings and weekends by appointment
Dealing with a broken storefront at 2 AM is a headache no business owner wants, and that’s where The Door Company feels especially useful.
They focus on commercial and industrial doors, with 24/7 emergency availability and more than 30 years of experience behind the work.
I also like that clients can use their walk-in counter for specific replacement parts instead of waiting for a full-service call.
Another aspect I found notable is that factory-trained and drug-tested technicians. They’re also certified by the American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM), which matters when an automatic entrance is involved.
Given their scope of projects, they’re not the right fit for homeowners. It’s also worth noting that they’re not currently accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Central Ohio.
They do a great job
We use The Door Co for commercial work, primarily door replacements. They do a great job, are very communicative and responsive, which in today’s world seems to be lost on most. Any issues they are quick to make right. They are my go to for door concerns!

2. Ace Handyman Services Northwest Columbus

Website: https://www.acehandymanservices.com/
Address: 1515 Bethel Road
Contact: (614) 881 1321
Hours: Available 24/7
Waiting around all day for a repair person gets old fast, so Ace Handyman Services Northwest Columbus stands out for exact appointment times and 24/7 availability.
The branch brings the national Ace name together with local franchise owners Paul and Laura Hammer, which gives the service a more familiar neighborhood feel.
I like that their craftsmen are fully insured W-2 employees and that the work is backed by a one-year labor warranty. Their “Respect Your Home” guarantee also helps, since shoe covers and cleanup matter when someone is working around your entryway.
Be prepared for higher prices, though. Because they use vetted employees rather than solo subcontractors, the baseline cost can be higher. They’re also not a custom fabrication shop, so they’re not for you if you want unusual door builds.
Marc arrived early and went right to work
Marc arrived early and went right to work. He did a great job installing my lock. Marc also noticed the door was not operating correctly and worked on the hinges to correct the problem. Marc is a valuable employee for your company. Marc also measured for my kitchen backsplash and I will have your company do that project also.

3. Columbus Handyman

Website: http://www.columbushandyman.net/
Address: 3757 N High St
Contact: (614) 263 2479
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
A simple door repair can turn into a bigger job once damaged framing, broken glass, or hidden structural issues show up. Columbus Handyman works well in that situation because they operate as a licensed, bonded, and insured general contractor.
Notably, they’ve been family-owned in Central Ohio since 1997 and can handle small component fixes as well as larger repairs around the opening.
If you’re preparing to sell, it’s also handy to pair their kind of work with a home inspection so that other issues don’t surprise you later.
I’m just a bit iffy regarding their availability. Since the team also takes on bigger remodeling work, a small latch or hinge job may not always feel like the top priority.
Can’t recommend this company enough
We have used Columbus Handyman for NUMEROUS projects including plumbing, fixing furniture, installing fans, installing new doors, painting, new windows, and fence repair. We just completed 17 new windows and a new back door. We saved thousands from what other window places wanted to charge, and the windows are the same. Mike and Bob were on time, worked quickly, and did a fabulous job right down to the last details and clean up. Can’t recommend this company enough.

The cost was quite reasonable
Columbus Handyman replaced a sliding screen door out to my deck. The service was professional and friendly. He adjusted the door so it wouldn’t slip out of its track, unlike the old one. I was so glad of that. And the cost was quite reasonable.

4. Mr. Handyman of West Columbus

Address: 5491 Scioto Darby Rd Suite 2, Hilliard

Hours: Available 24/7
Knowing who’s coming into your home makes a repair visit feel much less stressful, and Mr. Handyman of West Columbus leans into that.
With them, you can expect full-time tradespeople with more than a decade of experience, and technicians arrive vetted, uniformed, and background-checked.
Their “Neighborly Done Right Promise” is also reassuring because it covers workmanship and parts. I also like the upfront flat-rate pricing, especially when a door repair could turn into several smaller tasks during the same visit.
On the downside, their franchise model can come with higher minimum service costs, so a quick hinge adjustment may feel expensive. They also enforce territory boundaries, which can limit who they can help.
They get the job done right
Had a front door removed and had a front door installed and a security screen door installed. Had to do a lot of framing to do and a lot of Wonkie in the old door and frame and Darrell got the job done professionally. Highly recommend Darrell and Mr Handyman – They get the job done and done right!

Communication from the first contact was excellent
Communication from the first contact through the installation of our storm door was excellent. A name and photo of the installer was sent to us. Darrell was very pleasant and professional. He did a great job installing the new storm door. He cleaned up everything. We definitely would call on your company for future jobs that we need done! Thank you!

5. Capital City Handyman Services

Website: https://www.capcityhandymanoh.com/
Address: 275 Old County Line Rd Suite F, Westerville
Contact: (614) 269 8004 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday, Emergency Services Only
Capital City Handyman Services is a good fit if you want someone to explain the repair rather than rush through it.
I particularly love their straightforward approach: fair pricing, licensed tradesmen, and step-by-step communication so you understand what is being fixed. It’s also great that they back labor with a 90-day warranty.
A neighbor hired them to seal a drafty front entrance, and the technician took the time to explain how the new weatherstripping would help. That kind of patience is useful when you want the repair to last and not just look better for a week.
The main drawback is payment flexibility. If a door project turns into a larger replacement and you need a dumpster rental for debris, there’s no in-house financing to soften the upfront cost.
Very good job done by Brad
Worked on 2 bathrooms. Lighting and sinks replacement. Very good job done by Brad. Next he is to put door pulls on kitchen cupboards. Waiting for that to be done. Will recommend this company to others.

The quality of work was superb
We had Aaron and his team install a ceramic backsplash in our kitchen and also an exterior storm door in our garage, and I can not say enough great things about the experience. The quality of work was superb, their promptness worked well with my schedule. I am already recommending this company to my friends. We have a few more projects coming up and I will be scheduling with them again soon. It was a real pleasure working with them. They were so professional, listened to my wishes, and made my wishes a reality.
