We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Quality of Care: We selected naturopaths known for their holistic, thorough, and personalized services to ensure patients’ recovery and long-term health.

Communication: We preferred staff who were clear, attentive, and communicative throughout the treatments to facilitate easy communication.

Facilities and Equipment: We chose clinics that are clean, modern, and lab-ready, and that continually innovate to deliver excellent service.

Wait Times: We reviewed options that offer flexible scheduling and prompt updates to prevent delays in treatment or the recovery process.

As foodies, my friend and I have tried almost every brunch spot in the city. But one time, she mentioned feeling drained after our foodie date. Turns out, her digestion wasn’t very happy.

Scared of doing anything serious, she tried a variety of freshly pressed juices. But after drinking them non-stop, those drinks just made her bloated and anxious—that’s when we realized that she needed proper guidance.

But since she doesn’t want to rely on medicine or surgery, she asked me to help her find reliable naturopaths in Columbus for an initial consultation. If you are in a similar situation and want to heal naturally, take a look at our top picks.

How much do naturopaths charge in Columbus?

Naturopaths in Columbus typically charge between $150 and $500 for initial consultations and $80 to $300 for follow-ups. This depends on the location, session type, tests ordered, packages, and insurance.

Founded in 2019 by Dr. Hanisha Patel, Mahan Health focuses on root-cause naturopathy, treating the whole person instead of just the symptoms.

Dr. Patel received his ND (Doctor of Naturopathy) from Bastyr University in California in 2018, a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ohio State in 2013, and IV certification in 2013.

As for the clinic, they stand out in integrative fertility by checking the partner’s sperm quality. They also specialize in multiple concerns, such as pregnancy care, Hashimoto’s, and hypothyroidism.

We appreciate that the team doesn’t use cookie-cutter methods. They use personalized plans for sustainable results, guided by the values of great health from the Sanskrit word “mahan.”

You will need to make a discovery call to get specific rates, but their packages for fertility or thyroid care can go from $200 to $500 per session—still within Columbus norms. We also like their flexible payment options for those working within a budget.

And if you can’t visit them on-site, you can conveniently use their telehealth option from anywhere.

Just one drawback, though—they have a smaller team than others, resulting in longer wait times for appointments than at larger clinics.

Pros

  • Offers root-cause, personalized care
  • Known for personalized treatment plans
  • Strong focus on integrative fertility
  • Expertise in multiple concerns
  • Telehealth available for remote consults
  • Flexible payment options

Cons

  • Smaller staff size than others

They helped get us get to a more favorable state

“My husband and I had lost hope for a second child after multiple medications and IUIs. Connecting with Dr. Hanisha and her team brought us our second child. They helped get to the root cause of why I wasn’t getting pregnant and helped us get to a more favorable state. I learned so much and enjoyed working with Mahan Health. Thank you.”

Dr. Cassady has been a game-changer for me

“Mahan and my partnership with Dr. Cassady has been a game-changer for me. It was the first time I’ve experienced a practitioner that takes the time to explain my diagnosis and how it manifests within the entire body system. It is so wonderful to be able to ask my questions and receive thoughtful, patient answers, and to feel like the underlying causes – not just the symptoms – are being addressed. The whole-system approach changed my relationship with myself.”

2. Roots Whole Health

Address: 1217 Grandview Ave

Website

Roots Whole Health specializes in root-cause naturopathy, with global natural therapies such as herbs, hydrotherapy, and homeopathy that many clinics might skip.

Operating since around 2020, Dr. Kiran Khaira shines in handling complex chronic cases and prevention.

She earned her ND from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland in 2014. This is followed by a residency in naturopathic primary care at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle, where she remained until 2016.

Her path also included studying in China, Thailand, India, and Turkey. We reckon it gives her a richer perspective on her treatments.

As for the team’s day-to-day care, we think their process is very organized—complete an online intake 48 hours prior, a 90-minute initial visit, and a custom plan within 24 hours. For us, this makes them highly efficient and easy to understand.

Should you want to explore their services, their consultations cost around $250 to $350, with follow-ups within $125 to $175. These are pretty standard for Columbus naturopaths, and already include a full history review and a custom plan.

Other than that, fully virtual and phone options are available. This makes them highly accessible to busy, global clients.

Still, a former patient had a problem with the clinic’s lengthy intake process. This caused delays and frustration due to her urgent needs.

Pros

  • Skilled in using diverse natural therapies
  • Strong experience with complex chronic cases
  • Structured process with detailed custom plans
  • Virtual and phone consults available
  • Within standard Columbus pricing

Cons

  • Long intake process delays urgent care

This practitioner made me feel heard

“I was so desperate for some answers when I came into Roots Whole Health. I had never actually experienced sitting down with a practitioner and actually feeling HEARD. I tried some things Dr. Khaira suggested after doing some lab work, and I am happier now than I’ve ever been”

Business Hours:

  • Mon-Fri: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Sat-Sun: Closed

Website

Washington Naturopathic Family Medicine focuses on root-cause care, blending naturopathy with conventional medicine when needed. We think this is great for safely tapering long-term drugs on the safer side. After all, their principle is mainly guided by “first do no harm.”

They are led by Dr. Lina Washington, who graduated with her ND from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences in 2016. She also has an undergrad from the University of Toledo.

Having practiced since 2017, she leads her small team in focusing on thyroid management, pregnancy support, and family care. We also like that they offer telemedicine nationwide, beating local-only rivals.

As for their rates, initial visits can cost around $200 to $400, while returns cost around $140 to $180. These prices still match the Columbus standard.

However, this clinic occasionally experiences bottlenecks in its solo practice. For one, a few individuals told us that their high demand sometimes results in waits of 4 to 6 weeks.

Pros

  • Root-cause care with safe medication integration
  • Expertise in many issues
  • Nationwide telemedicine available
  • Rates within the city standard

Cons

  • Complaint about a lengthy turnaround time

She has really helped me get back to feeling like myself

“She took the time to take very detailed notes and listened to me. Exploring various possibilities. She has really helped me get back to feeling like myself. She continues to guide me to my better self. I have not felt this good in a while and I appreciate her patience and skill. I’m recommending her every chance I get! Thanks for being so awesome!”

We’ve seen changes almost instantly

“We met with Dr. Washing about 3 months ago, we did the bundle where we could stay in touch with her for the next three months and I can’t say enough good things about her. My son is 3 diagnosed ASD with a communication disorder. She started him on supplements and we seen changes almost instantly. Fast forward to now he is learning new words everyday just so much more interactive with us. So thankful that we chose to go this path and for all that she has done for us! I could not recommend her enough!”

The Whole List Doc blends functional medicine, homeopathy, and IV ozone therapy to address root causes for adults and teens. We think this is a rare combo in Columbus, where many stick to herbs alone.

With over 5 years of experience, Dr. Saima Khawaja, MD, excels in complex cases. These include chronic fatigue, through extensive testing.

Dr. Khawaja graduated from Aga Khan University Medical College in 1995, completed an Internal Medicine Residency at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center in 2002, and passed the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) boards.

Basically, she was a traditional hospitalist until her 2006 “narcotics moment,” which sparked her root-cause shift.

She then pivoted to holistic, functional medicine, Kiiko Matsumoto Style acupuncture, and somatic experiencing for trauma.

And as an immigrant from South Asia, she speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu. This is ideal for serving a more diverse Columbus patient population.

They charge around $250 to $300 for their lab-heavy initial consultations and $150 to $300 for follow-ups—all within the average Columbus range.

Just remember that, unlike some clinics, this clinic has a more limited schedule and is closed on Fridays.

Pros

  • Functional medicine with homeopathy and IV ozone
  • Highly skilled in complex chronic cases
  • Multilingual care for diverse patients
  • Standard Columbus pricing

Cons

  • Closed on Fridays
  • A bit far from downtown patients

We are very pleased with their approach and guidance

“This is a new journey for my wife and I taking a homeopathic route to our health. It has been quite an eye opening experience learning to understand your body in its entirety with very detailed appointments specific to your needs. We are very pleased with this approach and the guidance/direction along the way. Thank you! 🙏 …”

Business Hours:

  • Fri: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Sat-Sun: Closed

Operating for more than 13 years, Kanodia MD combines MD training with functional medicine, offering advanced lab testing and root-cause protocols that some pure naturopaths leave out.

Dr. Anup Kanodia leads the clinic in regenerative medicine via Harvard fellowships and Mayo residency. He graduated from Northeast Ohio Medical University with an MD in 2003 and from Harvard with an MPH in 2007.

Moreover, he spent 2 years learning directly under Dr. Mark Hyman, MD, a family physician and 15-time New York Times bestselling author.

On top of that, we find it convenient that their staff includes a family nurse practitioner and a craniosacral therapist to better meet patient needs.

Together, their core services cover functional lab diagnostics, nutrition plans, and supplements. They also provide stress management support for hormonal balance, gut health, and inflammation.

The rates here are also within the standard range for functional medicine in the city. Their initial consultations range from $250 to $400, while follow-ups cost $150 to $250.

However, their comprehensive lab testing can easily inflate costs compared to simpler ND herb-focused plans at other clinics. And compared to other clinics that work full days on weekdays, they have shortened Friday hours.

Pros

  • MD-led functional medicine with advanced lab testing
  • Highly experienced multidisciplinary team
  • Comprehensive care for many issues
  • Pricing within the Columbus average

Cons

  • Pricey extensive labs
  • Shorter Friday hours than others

I can confidently say he’s one of the good ones

“I’ve been really sick for about 8 years and the gist of it is I was basically have allergic reactions to all foods on the planet, horrible bloating, brain fog, fatigue, the list goes on and on. I have been seeing Doc Kanodia for the last few months and I’m doing soooooo much better. Still struggling with some lingering symptoms,  but we have a plan, and after almost a decade I can’t tell you what a relief this is. He knows his stuff. Super nice guy too. And after years of being dismissed, misdiagnosed, and gaslit by countless doctors, I can confidently say he’s one of the good ones.”

– Tabitha Eideh, Google Review

Professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable

“Lauren is professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She has been so helpful guiding me to resources and food brands that align with my health plan goals. She helps sort through issues I’ve had with food prep and busy schedules and is a valuable part of the whole KanodiaMD care team.”
