The 5 Best Interior Designers in Columbus Who Can Transform Your Space Beautifully

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Credentials and Experience: We focused on designers with strong portfolios, design awards, and years of experience to ensure that clients get help from credible people who know how to coordinate every aspect of the design process.

Service Range: Not everyone needs a full makeover, so we looked into firms that offer flexible services, from small layout fixes to complete project management.

Design Versatility: We also prioritized designers who know how to adapt to different aesthetics despite having their own signature style. Clients should receive results that reflect their vision, personality, and lifestyle.

Client Reviews: Aside from reviewing their portfolios, we also reached out to previous clients. This helped us determine which designers consistently deliver reliable services and favorable results.

Thinking back, I used to have misconceptions about a lot of stuff—that definitely includes thinking that interior design is just a rich people thing. You know, the kind of service for those who can casually spend thousands in one sitting just because the carpet doesn’t match the couch.

But when I ventured into real estate, that’s when I learned how a mere layout can help buyers decide. I know that goes against the saying “don’t judge the book by its cover,” but honestly, that’s how people are sometimes.

So, of course, I went ahead to find myself a good interior designer in Columbus—and here are some of the promising names out there.

How much do interior design services cost in Columbus?

Interior design services in Columbus usually cost between $100 to $500 per hour, depending on the project size. Meanwhile, for specific scopes, like a single-room makeover, it usually ranges from $5,000 to $10,000.

1. Staging Spaces

staging-spaces

Address: 4216 Indianola Ave.

Phone: +16142866677

Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM

Website

Staging Spaces was established in 2015 and is a highly regarded company in the local design community. It’s frequently recognized as one of the top interior designers in Columbus by industry blogs like FromWhere.

Looking at their portfolio, we like that they don’t lock themselves into a single design style. They can do anything from sleek modern homes to even historic Columbus properties.

They’re also pretty flexible with their work. They’ve previously completed projects like remodel designs and quick one-room refreshers. Besides interior design, they can also do staging, color consulting, space planning, and more.

Not only are they useful for homeowners, but realtors also praise the team for creating such photo-ready homes that attract buyers quickly.

The team charges by the hour, and the cost depends on how involved the clients would like the designers to be in the project. Several sources noted that their quotes are reasonable and competitive.

Their lead time ranges from 6 to 9 months for 2 to 3 rooms and 12 to 24 months for a full project. It’s slightly longer than standard, but if you’re after a carefully orchestrated result, Staging Spaces can be a promising option.

Pros

  • Design versatility
  • Strong local reputation
  • Residential and commercial appeal
  • Competitive quotes

Cons

  • Longer lead times

Talented interior design team

“We worked with Staging Spaces on redesigning several rooms on the main level of our home, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! Their team was patient, warm, and so easy to work with throughout the entire process. They really listened to our needs as a family of six and created spaces that are not only absolutely gorgeous but also functional for our daily lives. Every room feels inviting, cohesive, and perfectly suited to how we live. Highly recommend Staging Spaces to anyone looking for a thoughtful, talented interior design team!”

Prompt and courteous

“Staging Spaces did a great job staging my listing.  Quality furniture that added richness to the property. They were prompt and courteous.  I highly recommend Staging Spaces.”

2. SB Home Staging and Design

Address: 950 Taylor Station Rd, Suite A.

Phone: +16147471650

Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM–6 PM

Website

SB Home Staging and Design was only founded in 2021. Its team, especially the designers, brings over 20 years of combined experience in the field. Also, it quickly built an impressive list of recognitions, being awarded the Best Home Staging in Columbus.

When it comes to their work, their aesthetic leans modern and design-forward. This means they mostly do a combination of clean lines, sophisticated layouts, and high-end furniture. This makes them a go-to for transforming listings into higher-value properties.

But their services also extend into full interior design work for residential clients, so they’re pretty helpful even for homeowners who have no intentions of selling.

And compared to many upscale designers, SB Home’s pricing appears to be fairly competitive, according to past customers. They also offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation for new clients.

However, some people reported issues with transparency and some “extra” charges, though those complaints are heavily outnumbered by positive feedback.

Pros

  • Over 20 years of combined experience
  • Award-winning projects
  • Modern aesthetics
  • Versatile services
  • Competitive pricing
  • Complimentary consultation for new clients

Cons

  • Transparency issues

Absolutely incredible to work with

“SB Home Staging was absolutely incredible to work with. The team staged my home, resulting in multiple offers before the market. They truly brought my home to the next level, ready to be seen and loved by a new owner. Would use them time and time and time again!”

They understood my vision immediately

“Mauro and SB Staging were an exceptional choice for preparing my riverfront listing. They understood my vision immediately and executed it with precision and taste. The design was refined, balanced, and perfectly aligned with the aesthetic the owner and I were hoping to achieve. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to highlight the home’s best features made a meaningful difference in the overall presentation. I would confidently recommend SB Staging and will be using them again and again for my other listings!”

We found it best suited for projects that may need a complete package of construction, staging, interior design, and even real estate services.

In addition, they can handle a range of essential tasks, including contractor scheduling and furniture sourcing. Overall, the team helps streamline logistics and reduce project-related challenges, making them a highly convenient design partner.

Their portfolio shows a focus on upscale designs, including modern layouts and warm textures. However, they are flexible and can adapt to any style based on the client’s preferences.

Just note that their services aren’t exactly low-cost. What we appreciated is that the clients we spoke to mentioned the team’s willingness to work within different budgets to maximize the client’s investment.

  • Over 20 years in business
  • Full-service convenience
  • Logistical support
  • Flexible designs

The new home is undergoing significant renovations and Neal is marshaling that complex project efficiently and with precision. 4. Daniel Home

Address: 2814 Banwick Rd.

Phone: +16142273155

Business Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9 AM–4 PM

Website

Daniel Home is a luxury firm led by Danny Russo, whose work has been featured in local media, museums, and design publications. Many previous clients described him as “one of the most talented and creative interior designers” today.

The team’s design is known for being innovative and bold, which means they often feature rich textures and luxe materials in their work. They can deliver minimalist aesthetics as well, but they’re more inclined toward expressive colors and patterns.

Still, we appreciate that their process is deeply collaborative to ensure your space has personal details. And to help clients visualize the results, they often use 3D renderings and VR previews during the process.

Given that they handle everything from design all the way to custom furnishings, pricing is definitely on the premium side. Some of their previous projects even reached the multi-million dollar mark.

Pros

  • Well-recognized talent
  • Innovative aesthetic
  • Flexible designs
  • Collaborative process
  • High-tech visualization
  • Full design services

Cons

  • Premium pricing

Impressive in the ability to deliver spaces that feel personal

“I’ve had the privilege of working with Danny for over 15 years, and I can say without hesitation that his talent and professionalism are exceptional. He first designed my office at the hospital, and the impact was immediate—patients felt calmer, staff felt more supported, and the space finally reflected the level of care we aim to provide. Years later, when it came time to design my home, there was no question who I trusted. Danny listened closely to how I live and work, translated that into a beautiful, functional environment, and managed every detail with clarity and ease. His eye is unmatched, but even more impressive is his ability to deliver spaces that feel personal, timeless, and effortless to be in. I recommend him wholeheartedly.”

A joy to work with

“Danny and his team are amazing!! My husband and I wanted our first apartment as a married couple to be cozy, homey, modern and furnished with pieces that would grow with us. Danny is professional, timely and overall a joy to work with. We look forward to working with him again as we buy and furnish our first house!”

5. KP Designs Group

kp-designs-group

Address: 8910 Commerce Loop Dr.

Phone: +16145050992

Business Hours: Monday to Thursday, 10 AM–4 PM

Website

KP Designs Group has been active for 15 years and is repeatedly named “The Best Interior Design Firm” in Columbus by publications like Home Builders Digest and BuildDirect.

What we particularly like about them is the broad scope of their services. Meaning they can handle everything from a small paint consultation to full-service renovations and constructions.

Not to mention, they also work with architects, builders, and contractors throughout the process, so you basically have everything under one roof.

Another great thing about them is that they don’t adhere to a single style. Rather, they tailor every project around the clients’ personality and lifestyle. Looking at their previous projects, it’s clear that they don’t repeat the same design.

KP even offers its services in multiple tiers, and the cost depends on how involved you want the team to be. So, there’s also room for clients who want to DIY a little.

The only issue that was brought up was that they tend to push their “recommendations” a little strongly at times.

Pros

  • 15 years of service
  • Broad service scope
  • Comprehensive project management
  • Tailored designs

Cons

  • Can be pushy with design recommendations

Excellent communication and attention to detail

“After twenty years, it was time for a refresh of our kitchen, family room, and office. We loved working with Beth Hummel at KP Designs. Her talent and gift of mixing some of our old favorites with new, updated pieces resulted in beautiful, newly designed spaces. We love our new look. Beth’s excellent communication, attention to detail, and coordination with contractors made for a very positive decorating experience. Thank you, Beth and KP Designs Group!”

Very happy with my design experience

“I was very happy with my design experience with KP Designs Group. Specifically, I was very impressed with my designer, Dana Davis. I found Dana very easy to work with and not the least bit intimidating. She was quite clever and creative, but was also receptive to working with some specific ideas that I wanted to incorporate in my living room space. Sometimes it is a challenge when a space is being updated rather than designed from the ground up. Dana did a great job of incorporating furniture pieces that I already owned and wanted to keep in the space. I now have a space that reflects my style, not the designer’s style. The living room is beautiful and updated. I couldn’t be more pleased!”
