When your computer suddenly stops working, everything from work deadlines to personal files can feel at risk. The problem is that not every repair shop offers the same level of expertise or turnaround time, making it difficult to know where to go for help.
Because of this, I looked specifically into the computer repair shops that customers consistently trust for quality repairs and dependable service. I focused on businesses known for experienced technicians, fair pricing, and efficient diagnostics.
That’s why if you’re dealing with a slow PC or hardware failure, these Columbus computer repair shops stand out for helping customers get their devices back up and running quickly.
How much do computer repair services cost in Columbus?
Computer repair services in Columbus typically cost from $50 to $250+, depending on the issue, device type, and parts required. Basic software troubleshooting or virus removal may cost less, while hardware repairs such as data recovery can cost significantly more.
1. The Computer Store

Address: 4696 N High St, OH 43214
Contact: +1 614 267 1400
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
The Computer Store is one of those long-running repair shops that people keep recommending because they have seen almost every problem imaginable.
Since opening in 1992, they have built a reputation in Columbus for handling everything—from basic laptop repairs to more complicated data recovery and custom PC builds.
Even major electronics companies reportedly refer difficult repair cases to them when they can’t solve the issue themselves. That says a lot about the level of experience their technicians have.
I also like that they work across a wide range of brands, including Dell, Maingear, Zotac, and others. With this, customers aren’t limited to one ecosystem.
Their services also cover virus removal, software installation, and budget-friendly data recovery. Another plus is their focus on fast turnaround times to minimize downtime for customers.
The main drawback seems to be pricing consistency. Some customers mentioned paying higher-than-expected costs even for relatively small repairs or minor services.
The team was able to fix my laptop in just two hours
“Saed and his team were able to fix my laptop in just two hours from when I dropped it off. At first, I had gone to BestBuy because I purchased my device originally from them and they quoted me $350 (and that was even before they could add in any additional parts or labor). I said no and started Googling for other repair places near me. I had heard about long wait times for MicroCenter and other smaller businesses weren’t open on weekends. Thankfully, I only paid $182 + tax and Sawd gave me a $20 credit for being a student l, lol. I am so happy that I went with The Computer Store!”

Best experience I’ve ever had with computer / electronic help
“Best experience I’ve ever had with computer / electronic help! I brought 2 laptops in (my old one I had been using for several years) and my new one which wasn’t working as well as I had hoped (however I could’ve just brought in my old one and gotten it upgraded there instead of getting a new laptop had I known about this place before.)
I had them check & remove any viruses & malware / spyware from each computer as well as clear the old one and switch to a Linux based operating system. They also extracted my data from the old laptop and put it on the new one and then upgraded the RAM and overall storage capacity of the Old Laptop. I brought it in to them on a Monday evening and by Tuesday afternoon the next day it was done. The owner Saed and his staff are very friendly as well. Very satisfied! Much more personal, custom and timely than a place like Micro-center. Highly recommend!”

2. Adam, the Computer Guy

Address: 1268 Snohomish Ave, OH 43085
Contact: +1 614 530 2326
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours
Adam, the Computer Guy, has a very different feel compared to larger repair chains. Instead of operating like a corporate tech company, he offers personal and hands-on services. This genuinely seems to be a huge reason why many people recommend him.
He’s been working in the industry since 1995 and offers support for desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones.
I also like that Adam handles both in-home and in-office repairs because it saves customers from disconnecting and transporting equipment themselves.
One thing that really stands out is his availability. Offering 24/7 service alongside a discounted $59 hourly rate for people mentioning his ad.
Customers also frequently mention that he’s willing to work on short notice and even tutors them to troubleshoot minor problems for future reference.
The tradeoff, though, is response time. Since he operates a one-man team with “old-fashioned customer service,” phone calls can sometimes take a while to get answered.
Without a doubt, the fastest I’ve ever had someone help me with a computer
“This was, without a doubt, the fastest I’ve ever had someone help me with a computer (or any repair, to be honest). I called him around 4:30pm on a Tuesday, explained my problem, dropped my son off at baseball, texted him that I was home… and he was here less than a half-hour later. He was very polite and sympathetic toward my computer issue. He exhausted every possible solution and was very thorough and very professional. I certainly appreciate his assistance (and patience) with a 22-year-old laptop! Highly recommend.”

He is always very thorough and explains what he is doing
“Adam has remotely helped me fix several issues on a few different computers I own. He is always very thorough and explains what he is doing every step of the way. His customer service is top notch and his prices are unbeatable. With Adam, you not only get excellent tech support, you also get a friend!”

3. uBreakiFix by Asurion

Address: 1586 N High St #C05, OH 43201
Contact: +1 614 947 7566
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Sunday: 12:00 – 5:00 PM
uBreakiFix stands out mostly because of convenience. With more than 700 locations nationwide, it’s one of the easiest repair services to schedule with, especially for people who need quick turnaround times.
I also like how straightforward their repair process sounds. They offer free diagnostics, advanced troubleshooting when needed, and price matching. There is also a one-year limited warranty on most repairs.
On top of that, uBreakiFix will even beat a local competitor’s repair price by five dollars, which makes them feel pretty competitive pricing-wise.
They also repair phones, tablets, and gaming consoles. So, it’s practical for households dealing with multiple device issues at once.
Another thing I found appealing is that some repairs can reportedly be completed the same day. It’s a huge advantage for people relying heavily on their devices for work or school.
The downside is that scheduling doesn’t always seem consistent. Some customers have mentioned promised completion times being pushed back despite booking in advance.
Obviously well-versed in computer repair
“My tech Brian went above and beyond to try and repair my/son’s gaming laptop. I was borrowing it because my laptop lost a battle with a glass of water.
My place of purchase and the account I actively had in their Geek Squad program didn’t qualify as it had been 2 years from date of purchase. 7 days before, it had lost its warranty.
The only and best thing they had to say was to try ubreakifix and from the moment I stepped in, Brian stepped up! He pitched the Assurion warranty, which is amazing, described some scenarios of what they would try and gave me the heads up on his being out of the office and will start the fix himself.
While in the end, he could not sprinkle magic on the motherboard he was upfront and honest. I would refer this location (N. High) and have them ask for Brian to be there tech! He is obviously well versed in computer repair.”

This is the place to go if you have a system malfunction
“Dropped my Omen laptop off and just a day later they had problem solved and fixxed everything wrong with it, not only that but they also did’nt charge me beyond the original diagnostic price since it was so simple for them to fix. My brother had an issue with his phone a few months back and they solved it within minutes of him coming into the store and charged him nothing for the help as well which is how I learned about this place. This is the place to go if you have a system malfunction! Upon pickup the person who worked on my laptop also had pictures of what was seen wrong and what was done to solve the issue.”

4. Micro Center

Address: 747 Bethel Rd, OH 43214
Contact: +1 614 850 3675
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Micro Center is an Authorized Service Provider for select brands. They can also handle official in-warranty repairs for certain manufacturers, which adds an extra layer of trust.
Things I genuinely like are that walk-ins are accepted, free consultations are available, and their technicians are prepared to handle almost everything (diagnostics to battery replacements and data recovery).
Their repair guarantees are another strong point, too. Clients get a 90-day labor warranty and a one-year warranty on replacement parts purchased through the company.
I also found their PriorityCare+ membership interesting. You get unlimited technical support, free diagnostics, and 1TB of cloud storage.
These support packages benefit small businesses managing websites or online stores that depend on reliable systems.
The biggest frustration seems to involve their help center system. Some users reported issues with customer service surveys and email support codes not functioning correctly.
The tech folks are awesome!
“Micro Center is the only computer/electronic store for me. I’ve been building my own computers since 1984. The last computer I built lasted me 15 years and all parts were purchased from Micro Center.
For the first time since 1984, I bought a phenomenal PowerSpec desktop. It screams speed and reliability.
The tech folks are awesome! Very knowledgeable and professional! Aaron and Musso are the techs that I recommend! Thank you both for all your help! Thanks goes to Kevin Ingledue for all your help!”

Amazing place
“This is amazing place. I love being able to go into a computer store and the sales people are knowledgeable about what they’re talking about. Being able to discuss my issues and to have them help me solve problems was wonderful! If you’re looking to build or buy a computer or get into 3D printing, this is the place you need to go and talk to the people who are there! They know what they know and they are passionate about it. Thank you, micro center! PS. The ballz are wonderful”

5. Fix-It Computer Repair

Address: By Appt Only, 601 E Beechwold Blvd, OH 43214
Contact: +1 614 228 6060
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Fix-It Computer Repair has been serving Columbus and Central Ohio since 1993. Many clients say that their services are especially practical for people who prefer repairs done at home or in the office.
Their A+ certified technicians handle desktops and laptops across Windows, macOS, and Linux systems. They also fix Apple devices like MacBooks and iMacs.
The main limitation is that they aren’t an Authorized Mac repair center. This can occasionally create delays when sourcing Apple parts.
But I personally like that they offer evening and Saturday appointments because tech issues rarely happen at convenient times.
If they can’t fix your computer, you don’t pay, which makes the service feel lower-risk for customers unsure about repair outcomes. You also get a full one-year warranty on parts and services, which adds peace of mind long after the appointment is finished.
