The 5 Best Photography Studios in Columbus for Your Next Shoot

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Studio Facilities and Equipment: We evaluated the lighting modifiers, backdrops, props, and gear included with each rental. Studios that made it easier to arrive and start shooting scored higher.

Space and Flexibility: We looked at how well each venue adapts to portraits, branding, commercial work, and small creative events. Spaces with multiple looks or flexible layouts felt more useful.

Pricing and Packages: We compared hourly rates against the amenities included in the booking. Clear policies and fewer surprise fees made a studio feel more renter-friendly.

Location and Accessibility: We considered parking, loading access, and how simple it is to bring equipment into the space. Ground-floor entry or nearby parking helped a lot.

Customer Experience: We paid attention to how renters describe communication, policies, and the overall flow of each session. A beautiful studio still needs to be easy to use.

Finding the best photography studio in Columbus can feel like a lot when every rental space promises great light, cool furniture, and an easy booking process.

For portraits, brand shoots, podcasts, or small creative projects, the right room makes a real difference. I looked for studios with practical amenities, accessible setups, and enough character to help a session feel polished without getting complicated.

Here are Columbus photography studios that stood out for their light, flexibility, equipment, and overall renter experience.

1. The Que Studio

the-que-studio

Website: thequestudio.com

Address: 1278 East Main Street

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Daily, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

The Que Studio is the kind of bright, easygoing rental that works best when you want natural light to do most of the heavy lifting.

Its south-facing windows bring in steady sunlight, and the space comes with several seamless paper colors, contemporary furniture, and enough clean corners for portraits, branding, or small lifestyle sessions.

I recently booked a short family session here, and the complimentary parking right by the entrance made unloading gear much less stressful than I expected. I also liked that pets are welcome, which opens the door for more relaxed family or creative portraits.

The catch is that you need to bring your own camera and flash gear because there are no on-site equipment rentals. Book carefully, too, since confirmed reservations are not refundable.

Pros

  • Pet-friendly environment
  • Urgent booking support
  • Versatile contemporary furnishings
  • No upfront damage deposit required

Cons

  • Zero on-site equipment rentals
  • Strict no-refund booking policy

Jasmine Stepped In for Last Minute Shoot

I booked the studio for a branding shoot, and my photographer had to cancel last minute. Jasmine happened to be there and stepped in to take the photos for me, and I’m so glad she did! Her attention to detail and ability to adapt to the lighting and aesthetic I was looking for made me feel confident throughout the session. The preview photos already looked incredible, and the studio itself is beautiful. I can’t wait to see the final images. I highly recommend Jasmine!

Perfect Studio for Family Christmas Session

We love the Que studio! Just had our family Christmas session there last week and the studio was perfect! We loved both holiday installations. This studio is perfect for each guest and photographer! There’s parking on site, two bathrooms for changing stations, and numerous options for photo backdrops. The owner is thoughtful and provides everything needed in a natural-light studio. We are repeat customers, and as a creative, this is my go-to rental space in Central Ohio!

2. Goodlife Studios

Website: goodlife-studios.com

Address: 4560 Indianola Ave

Contact: (614) 571-3966 | [email protected]

Hours: Daily, 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Goodlife Studios is an easy pick when you need more than a simple blank room. The cornerless white cyclorama wall gives full-body shoots a clean, commercial look, while the real-plant installation and boho setup add warmer options for lifestyle work.

Many local photographers in Columbus use this studio because the lighting tools are already included with the rental. That saves a lot of hauling, especially if you’re moving between portrait, product, and content setups in one session.

The studio also supports audio-visual podcast production, which is helpful for creators who want one location for photo and video work.

The main drawback is the tighter structure of some packages. Entry-level headshot sessions come with very few final images. The short booking windows can also feel rushed if your subject needs time to settle in.

Pros

  • Included professional lighting gear
  • Private changing area provided
  • Diverse in-house prop collection
  • Comprehensive multi-angle podcast coverage

Cons

  • Minimal base headshot deliverables
  • Short minimum booking windows

3. Studio 55 Columbus

Website: studio55cbus.com

Address: 55 E Spring St

Contact: (614) 585-9055 | [email protected]

Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Saturday, 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Sunday, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Studio 55 Columbus makes sense for photographers who want a clean daylight setup without paying extra for every basic tool.

The 600-square-foot shooting area is wrapped in white walls, and the seamless cyclorama helps fashion, commercial, and portrait shoots look polished.

I like that the rental includes lighting modifiers, continuous lights, and backdrop paper usage. That keeps the session simpler for newer photographers or anyone who doesn’t want to pack a full studio kit.

The dual-axis backdrop mounts are also practical because they let you switch looks without slowing down the shoot too much.

Just keep a close eye on time, as the studio has strict late-exit fees. Confetti or similar materials can also trigger a cleaning charge.

Pros

  • Generous lighting equipment included
  • Free seamless backdrop paper usage
  • Outside food and drinks permitted
  • Dedicated hair and makeup vanity

Cons

  • Rigid late eviction fines
  • Cleaning charge for confetti and similar materials

4. Harry Acosta Photography

harry-acosta-photography

Website: harryacosta.com

Address: 289 West Walnut Street Ste 13

Contact: (614) 571-0142 | [email protected]

Hours: Available 24/7

Harry Acosta Photography is different from the other entries because you’re booking the photographer, not just an empty rental space. That can be ideal if you want portraits, corporate headshots, or event coverage without coordinating a separate service.

The big advantage is convenience. Sessions inside Columbus come without travel fees, clients receive all captured digital images, and communication is known for being quick.

Those looking for wedding photographers in Columbus may also appreciate the fast edited gallery turnaround.

The setup feels especially useful for families or professionals who want a straightforward booking process.

The downside is the two-hour minimum for event coverage. If you only need a quick appearance or a short add-on shoot, that requirement can make the final cost feel higher.

Pros

  • Enthusiastically animal-friendly sessions
  • Contract-free portrait bookings
  • Transparent upfront pricing
  • Flexible modern payment methods

Cons

  • Strict two-hour booking minimum

Corporate Headshots and Professional Profiling

I highly recommend Harry Acosta Photography. I retain Harry Acosta Photography for corporate headshots and profiling. Be sure to communicate what you want and Harry Acosta will deliver. Harry Acosta Photography accommodates our need to have onsite photography with portable equipment. It doesn’t diminish the quality of the work and improves our own operational efficiency.

Quick Turnaround for Professional Headshots

Needed a professional headshot for my job within 24 hours. Harry was able to book me the very next day and have the photos ready a couple hours after they were taken. The studio was neat and tidy, and had ample lighting sources. He had a variety of back drops and we discussed which ones looked best with my outfit color.

5. Zurie Photo Studio Rental

zurie-photo-studio-rental

Website: zurie.co

Address: 3477 North High St

Contact: [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Zurie Photo Studio Rental works well when you want a calm daylight studio with a little polish already built in.

The two large south-facing windows give the space consistent natural light, while neutral backdrops, a wall mount, and a rolling stand make simple setup changes easier.

Plus, the included furnishings, including the cream sofa and dining chairs, help the room feel ready for brand shoots.

I spoke with a colleague who hosted a small creative event here, and the self-check-in code system made arrival feel smooth. The ground-floor location and loading dock are also useful when you’re carrying heavy stands or furniture.

Noise is the main limitation, as the space is not soundproof. The shared parking lot can also get busy because of the nearby restaurant. Pricing is another factor to look out for, with rates rising based on total foot traffic.

Pros

  • Easy first-floor equipment access
  • Balanced concrete floor tones
  • Comprehensive modern furnishings included
  • Fully climate-controlled environment

Cons

  • Cumulative foot traffic pricing model
  • No guaranteed soundproof environment
