The 5 Best Termite Control Services in Columbus Built for Long-Term Pest Protection

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Treatment Methods: We looked for companies that offer a range of termite treatment options, allowing them to tailor methods to the property and clients’ preferences.

Protection Plans: We selected companies that offer comprehensive programs with ongoing support and warranties to ensure homeowners are protected over the long term.

Experience: We prioritized companies with decades of experience in the field, as this provides clients with confidence that they are working with experts in termite behavior and conditions.

Client Feedback: We also reviewed customer feedback to spot consistent patterns in communication, support services, and treatment effectiveness.

As someone who’s lived in Columbus his whole life, there are three things homeowners often complain about: a rule-obsessed HOA, property taxes, and termite infestations.

The first two are somewhat manageable, but pests that chew away everything in your home? A total nightmare. That’s why it’s always a priority in our household to stay on top of prevention and work with reliable termite control services in Columbus.

Sure, it’s another financial commitment, but we’d rather invest in these termite control companies than spend thousands on huge repairs in the future.

How much do termite control services cost in Columbus?

Termite control services in Columbus typically cost around $500 to $900 for a general pest extermination. However, the final cost depends on the treatment method, home size, and plan selected.

1. Orkin

orkin-logo

Address: 6232 Huntley Rd, OH 43229

Phone: +16146817296

Business Hours: Open 24/7

Website

Orkin has been in the industry for over 120 years and is well-known nationwide. And they aren’t just well-regarded for nothing; their technicians, called “Orkin Pros,” undergo formal training before they’re even allowed in the field.

When it comes to fighting termites, they use the baiting station method by tricking termites into taking poisoned food back to their queen. This is the ideal option if you prefer a less invasive, more eco-friendly approach.

On the other hand, you can also choose their liquid treatments, which are more common and can expand into spaces that sprays can’t reach.

As for pricing, Orkin is on the higher end, with many homeowners citing it as one of the most expensive providers in the city.

However, most clients consider it a great investment, given the expertise and attention to detail from the initial consultation through the actual job.

Nonetheless, they offer a free inspection and provide a full report after the work, including all details of the work performed. This is great, especially if you want transparency into exactly what you are paying for.

Pros

  • Over 120 years of experience
  • Highly trained workers
  • Eco-friendly options
  • Free inspection
  • Full, detailed report after the job

Cons

  • Premium pricing

I was getting honest information

“This is my first time dealing with Orkin, and I did so when getting a second opinion on some things and to get an estimate for termite prevention. The main reason I decided on Orkin was that I felt I was getting honest information and not being sold something I didn’t really need. I’m sure I’ll deal with them in the future for other services they offer.”

Thank you for making this experience less stressful

“Orkin was very professional yet friendly. We had just bought our house about a year ago, and we noticed what looked like termite damage. The Orkin representative examined everything and gave us options. We decided to have them installed. Thank you for making this experience less stressful.”

2. Terminix

terminix-logo

Address: 3695 Corporate Drive, OH 43231

Phone: +16146424789

Business Hours: Open 24/7

Website

Terminix is another long-standing pest control service in the city, established in 1927. In fact, it’s the first company to patent a termite-control chemical, Terminix 3A3B, and was awarded a pioneer designation in the U.S. for an insecticide.

Today, the company’s treatment method typically combines regular inspections with termite protection systems that may include baiting and barrier.

We appreciate that their service isn’t just for one-time work; they focus on long-term solutions. Their offer includes tiered plans—labeled Basic, Advanced, and Premium —that aim to stop infestations and help prevent new ones.

But of course, the higher the plan, the better the coverage, like repair guarantees and ongoing control for other household pests.

Their service fee depends on your home’s size, but we have heard from many homeowners that it’s also on the expensive side. We love that they offer bundle deals, such as combining your termite plan with general pest control, to save about $175.

On top of that, they offer a guarantee that if they miss a spot or new damage shows up while you are under contract, the repairs are free.

Pros

  • Over 90 years of experience
  • Provides long-term termite solutions
  • Tiered protection plans
  • Bundle discounts
  • Repair guarantee

Cons

  • Can be expensive

Very professional and very respectful

“My technician, Charles, has been awesome. He is very knowledgeable and answers all of my questions about my pest control needs. He is very professional and very respectful when he shows up to do the inspection of my crawlspace and termite service.”

– Sarah Justus, Google Review

Very reliable and works fast

“I needed to get a termite company as quickly as possible to come for an inspection on this property I owned. I gave Terminix a call, and they came out the next day. They gave me a quote, and once we accepted, they were out there in no time. One of the team member Michael, was very understanding and explained the entire process in depth. There is no doubt that if I ever have an issue like this again, I will be giving them a call. Very reliable and work fast.”

3. ScherZinger

Address: 1750 Idlewild Dr., OH 43232

Phone: +16144690088

Business Hours: Open 24/7

Website

Since 1930, ScherZinger has provided pest control solutions to residential and commercial clients throughout Ohio.

Their primary weapon against termites is the Sentricon System, which is known for its ability to eliminate an entire colony without the need for drilling or digging up your yard.

They also offer liquid-based treatments in case of a more immediate wall around the structures of your property.

One thing that makes the company a great choice is its transparency with monthly pricing. Their plan starts at $61 per month and includes pest and termite monitoring and extermination.

If you would prefer a more comprehensive coverage that includes mosquito mitigation, they offer the Complete Guardian ($95 per month). As an all-inclusive package, this price is just right.

For new clients, I love the free quote and a 10% welcome discount.

Looking at how they work, homeowners we spoke with expressed high satisfaction with the services. They said that the workers are punctual and always clean up after the job.

However, a few clients also reported gaps in communication, including slow response times and failure to provide advice for no-shows resulting from scheduling errors.

Pros

  • Over 90 years of experience
  • Non-invasive treatment methods
  • Pricing transparency
  • Tiered programs
  • Introductory discounts

Cons

  • Communication gaps

I was very satisfied with the service

“Very professional. On time and friendly. Answered questions knowledgeably. We had a thunderstorm coming in, so the rest of the work was scheduled for next week at my own request. Tammy explained exactly what would be done. I am having termite protection installed in the ground. I was very satisfied with the service today.”

– Nona Pierce, Google Review

Kind, professional, and thorough

“I trust Scherzinger in my home and with my property. They do an exceptional job hiring world-class individuals to represent their company and serve their customers. Alec is a great example of such a hire. He was kind, professional, thorough, and informative. I appreciate them and will forever be a customer. Thanks for taking such good care of me, Alec!”

4. Moxie Pest Control

Address: 400 Lazelle Road, Suite 4 & 5, OH 43240

Phone: +16148583641

Business Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 AM–7 PM
  • Saturday, 9 AM–5 PM

Website

Moxie Pest Control offers a wide range of pest control plans and has been in the business since 2001. They are quite popular in neighborhoods such as German Village, Clintonville, and the University District.

What we find really valuable is their meticulous termite inspection (which is free), where the technician spots mud tubes and hollow-sounding wood.

Once the problem area is identified, they will develop a customized plan that typically includes a heavy-duty treatment (such as baiting systems, foams, or liquid treatments) followed by ongoing monitoring.

Moxie also loves a good bundle. Their general pest plans start at $516 annually and include 4–6 routine visits. That price falls within the city average, but if you prefer more comprehensive coverage for termites and mosquitoes, they offer the Total Protection Package at $95 per month.

The company appears to be well regarded by its loyal clients, particularly because its employees listen to their concerns and resolve issues effectively.

One thing we found questionable, though, is that Moxie salespeople often go door-to-door unannounced. It makes many homeowners uneasy or feel unsafe.

Pros

  • 25 years of experience
  • Meticulous termite inspection
  • Tailored treatment plans
  • Bundled annual subscription
  • Offers premium packages
  • Reliable team

Cons

  • Door-to-door solicitation

Couldn’t recommend him any more

“Demetrius was great! We are in a new home and inherited the moxie termite service from our last owner, and we were feeling clueless about how the service worked. He answered millions of questions, was polite, and professional. Couldn’t recommend him any more!”

– Nick Shank, Google Review

They are effective against termites

“Brandon did an excellent job checking and refilling termite baits around our property. He explained thoroughly how the baits work, what he saw as he checked them, and why they’re effective against termites.”

5. Environmental Pest Management (EPM)

Address: 2400 Corporate Exchange Dr #120, OH 43221

Phone: +16147718605

Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM–5:30 PM

Website

As a family-owned business for over 20 years, Environmental Pest Management (EPM) has managed to claim its place as one of the top 100 national pest companies in the U.S.

They are popular with apartment complexes and property managers, and they are also very active in supporting various residential homes across the city.

For termite control, EPM primarily uses Termidor, a high-performance liquid repellent that creates a barrier around the home. This product includes a 5-year warranty and routine checks in years 1, 3, and 5 to help ensure your home remains termite-free.

There are baiting systems available as well, if you are looking for a less invasive option.

While pricing is customized, their most popular program is Preferred Pest Protection (P3). It’s an annual plan designed to eliminate pests for good.

We also appreciate that they offer free quotes and provide fast turnarounds, often sending a technician for an estimate the day after you call.

They do work quickly, but this doesn’t sit right with some homeowners. They said the pace feels a bit rushed, as if the team just wants to get the job done and move on to the next one.

Pros

  • Over 20 years of experience
  • Reliable warranty
  • Comprehensive protection plans
  • Free quotes
  • Fast turnaround times

Cons

  • Reports of impersonal and rushed service

Any areas of concern are quickly treated

“We have used environmental pest management for six years to take care of any and all pest treatment and prevention. They have always communicated with us promptly and professionally. Any areas of concern are quickly treated. Recently, the technician, Chris, was at our home to do our quarterly treatment and to inspect our termite traps. He is always cheerful, thorough, and professional.”

– Charlotte Barker, Google Review

Very happy with the service

“We bought our house and it had previous termite damage- EPM maintains our termite traps and Brendan M. just came out and was very respectful of the property and very kind in explaining what he is doing, etc. Very happy with the service and the folks they send out to the house!”
