While simple physical therapy might be a great solution, sports injuries just can’t be repaired through that alone. Some injuries require specialized methods to heal, and some specialists provide those and more.
Kinesiologists are professionals in treating sports injuries and are excellent at easing chronic pain. They focus on rehabilitation through targeting specific anatomical locations.
With that in mind, I’ve pooled together some of the best kinesiologists in Columbus. I’m sure that with their aid, anyone can heal from their severe sports injuries.
How much does a session with a kinesiologist cost in Columbus?
A session with a Kinesiologist in Columbus typically costs around $90 to $175 per hour.
This price can vary widely depending on the practitioner’s experience, the duration of each session, and insurance coverage.
1. Thomas A Wieland, DC

Address: 1908 Bethel Rd, OH 43220
Contact Details: +1 614-326-3374
Operating Hours:
- Monday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Tuesday to Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Thomas A Wieland focuses on treating the body rather than simple symptoms. Through his utilization of food supplements and chiropractic adjustments, he can easily help anyone maintain their overall wellness.
Dr. Wieland is a licensed chiropractor and has a degree in quantum neurology from Quantum Neurological Rehabilitation. Additionally, he graduated with an applied kinesiology degree from the International College of Applied Kinesiology.
His services cover shoulder and back pain. Many patients have experienced immediate pain relief after chiropractic adjustments, which are safe and effective.
He can also help reduce stress, digestive issues, and allergies. To do this, he uses applied kinesiology. This can target specific glands and muscles and, with certain adjustments, help alleviate nerve damage and other imbalances.
However, Dr. Wieland’s holistic approach to healing might not suit some patients who prefer a purely medical approach.
I have had amazing results from Dr. Wieland
“My wife and I have had amazing results from Dr. Wieland. He diagnosed me having a very bad case of candida. Within 30 days I felt like a new man. My energy was back. The cloudy feeling of apathy was gone. He gave me diet instructions along with a number of standard processing products. It was an amazing experience. We have found his applied kinesiology technique to be very accurate. He diagnosed something in my wife that he never could have known otherwise. I don’t understand the process but I know it works.”

My life was forever changed
“I was struggling with severe stomach pain (over 10 years) and crippling menstrual cycles (over 8 years). Went through multiple tests from doctors who could never truly figure out what was wrong, who gave me a couple of diagnoses that have no cure (IBS and endometriosis), or doctors that only pointed me to more doctors. The medicine the doctors gave me never helped. I couldn’t leave my house because I was in constant pain. Mind you, I’m only 20 years old. When a friend referred me to Dr Weiland, my life was forever changed. He has helped me tremendously to where I’m not in much pain anymore. He has significantly improved my quality of life and is helping me get my health in check. I 100% recommend him to anyone.”

Through the combined efforts of Dr. Erik Hensel and Dr. Jasmine Craner, Active Edge prioritizes helping patients restore joy through kinesiological approaches. Both are Doctors of Chiropractic with several years of experience.
Their services can treat various ailments, including arthritis and inflammation in several body areas. Aside from helping heal muscles through exercise, they offer diet plans focused on natural remedies.
Both doctors are also rehabilitation specialists who use a broader approach that focuses on the entire body. Patients who have undergone treatment with them have stated that the rehabilitation process was more complete than at other clinics.
Aside from these, musculoskeletal and neurological examinations are also performed to assess each patient’s capabilities from start to finish. I adore these because they showcase their overall focus on improving each patient’s condition.
Still, it’s a bit disappointing that their services are relatively expensive.
Active Edge has literally changed my physical life
“Active Edge has literally changed my physical life. Both Dr. Hensel and Craner are not only amazing doctors, but incredible people. Their view on health and wellness is so different than the standard ‘take this pill and hope for the best’. Functional medicine + an amazing staff = the new recipe for long term health!”

Rise Chiropractic & Nutrition is best for chronic ailments. They can easily identify the reasons a patient is stressed or tired through their team-based approach to care.
I love that this clinic works with pediatrics and has a specific service for women. I was impressed by the doctors here, who have extensive training, including from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and the Gaia Health Academy.
The Webster Technique, as well as Gaia Health and BirthFit, are truly comprehensive methods in helping before, during, and after pregnancy. These address the pelvis and spine, along with the surrounding ligaments and muscles, to promote hormone balance during pregnancy.
For children, their careful yet effective chiropractic methods have helped with digestion, improved sleep, and enhanced athletic performance.
With all these excellent services in mind, each visit is relatively short, around 15 to 30 minutes per session.
The care is thoughtful and personalized
“Rise Chiropractic & Nutrition is exactly what you hope to find in a local small business. From the moment you walk in, the staff is welcoming, friendly, and genuinely cares about you as a person, not just a patient.
The care is thoughtful and personalized, never rushed, and clearly tailored to your specific needs. You can tell they take the time to listen, explain things clearly, and focus on long term improvement rather than quick fixes.
The space is clean, modern, and comfortable, and the entire experience feels professional while still being very approachable. If you are looking for high quality chiropractic care with a personal touch, I cannot recommend Rise enough.”

I cannot say enough good things about Rise Chiropractic
“I cannot say enough good things about Rise Chiropractic! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm smile by Emily, the receptionist, who is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always makes you feel right at home. She sets the tone for the whole experience.
Dr. Nicole and Dr. Courtney are truly amazing. They’re not only highly professional and knowledgeable, but also kind, compassionate, and incredibly relatable. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients and go the extra mile to make sure you’re feeling your best.
I’ve especially appreciated their care during my pregnancy. There was a time I was in so much back pain I thought I’d have to call off work—but I called Rise Chiropractic, they got me in last minute, and after my adjustment, I was able to go about my day pain-free. They’ve truly done wonders for me and I’m so grateful to have found them.
If you’re looking for a supportive, skilled, and genuinely caring chiropractic team, Rise Chiropractic is the place to go!”

At Fitness Matters, they primarily use Kinesio Taping for kinesiology. Their practice has 24 dedicated staff members, with an easy-to-find location, which has been beneficial for several disabled patients.
Their team consists of orthopedic physical therapists and occupational therapists. I also liked that they employ personal trainers who work closely with the therapists, helping patients heal properly.
Other offers they have include dry needling and pilates, which are great at promoting strength and core stability.
Patients even enjoyed their electrical stimulation and instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilization services, which helped promote healing in pain-focused areas.
As for the ailments they treat, notable ones include headaches and sciatica relief. They can even relieve pain from fibromyalgia and aid in recovery from balance and gait disorders.
However, they are an appointment-based service, so it may take a while before you get your schedule.
I had a great experience with wonderful results
“I came to Fitness Matters after getting a knee replacement. I had a great experience with wonderful results working with primarily Lauren.
She makes it fun and gets the job done at the same time! I’m very pleased and would highly recommend Fitness Matters! The best part is your PT is only working with you which is Extremely Important!”

I had a very good experience at Fitness Matters for post shoulder surgery
“I had a very good experience at Fitness Matters for post shoulder surgery. Jeannie was my main therapist and she did a wonderful job of teaching me how to do the exercices, how often to do them at home, and what not to do. She was kind and very considerate toward me. Lauren also provided me with her knowledge of healing and was a great cheerleader to my efforts of getting my shoulder back to normal movements. I am grateful to them and Britney who did a great job scheduling my appointments. I will never go to any other PT facility, if I need one. I have been to other PT facilities for knee, other shoulder and back therapy, but Fitness Matters team of therapists are the best! Their facility is clean, their equipment is top of the line, and they treat their patients/clients with respect. I am so grateful to them!”

5. Athletes’ Potential

Address: 2125 W 5th Ave, Suite 104, OH 43212
Contact Details: +1 470-355-2106
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Athletes’ Potential has an easy 3-step process to help patients identify the root cause of their pain. They create custom plans based on their diagnosis and utilize several types of workouts and sports to help aid recovery.
Patients speak highly of their recovery plans, as they are long-term and continuously adjusted throughout their journey. I was also impressed that patients get to work 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, which is rare in the industry.
Their services mainly consist of rehabilitation and physiotherapy exercises that typically last for 60 minutes. I found these to be longer than most clinics, while still being a worthwhile price.
There are even blood-flow restriction services that eliminate pain quickly. Aside from these, they offer services focused on runners and golfers, which is unique.
Still, I wish they offered additional services like other clinics, such as chiropractic care.
I highly recommend them if you want lasting relief
“Athletes’ Potential helped me go from 15+ years of nagging neck/upper back tightness that flared up every time I sat at my desk to being pain free! Dr. Matt fixed me and now I’m able to work, walk, and golf without having any pain or tightness. Dr. Matt explained why I was having the pain and worked with me to fix the root cause! I highly recommend them if you want lasting relief instead of pain that keeps coming back.”
– Erica Leighton, Google Review
I really appreciate that I’m able to work 1-on-1 with him
“I came to Dr. Longfellow after hearing from a friend that he also helped her with her shoulder. I injured my shoulder years ago and didn’t have much success with physical therapy in the past. Now that I’m a massage therapist, my chronic pain was affecting me daily with my work. Dr. Matt has been incredible in helping me get back to being more active and being able to use my shoulder without pain. I really appreciate that I’m able to work 1-on-1 with him to target and relieve my pain. Although it takes time, I’m so genuinely happy with my progress!
I highly recommend Dr. Matt at Athlete’s potential if you’re also needing relief from chronic pain.”
