The 5 Best Delivery Services in Columbus That’ll Drop It like It’s Hot (Safely)

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Quality of Service: We selected delivery companies known for their careful handling, accurate fulfillment, and consistent reliability to ensure items arrive intact and on time.

Communication: We preferred highly responsive staff who can provide real-time updates and clear tracking to keep senders and receivers well-informed.

Turnaround: We prioritized options that offer same-day delivery, rapid dispatch, and efficient routing, enabling customers to meet urgent and time-sensitive delivery needs.

Value and Cost-Effectiveness: We selected providers that offer transparent pricing and fair rates with no hidden fees, allowing customers to maximize savings without compromising service quality.

A friend moved into a historic brick townhouse and immediately ran into a problem with bulky deliveries. She needed furniture delivery for a secondhand drafting table that wouldn’t fit through the narrow hallway turns.

They initially called random gig couriers from a few cheap delivery apps, but that only led to scratches on doorframes and a near-miss with a restored 1920s banister.

And since the building was older and had strict access rules, even loading zones and entry timing became an issue. Eventually, they asked me for help since my architecture background made me familiar with handling heritage buildings.

After going through different service providers and reviews, I compiled a list of reliable delivery services in Columbus for her. So if you’re also dealing with tricky moves or sending everyday errands, feel free to check out our top picks.

How much do delivery services cost in Columbus?

Delivery services in Columbus typically cost from $3 to $10 for local consumer orders such as food and groceries. In contrast, same-day B2B courier services generally start at a base rate of $15 and can exceed $45 depending on distance, urgency, and package size.

1. Reliable Couriers

Reliable Couriers is a same-day courier shop focusing on quick, dependable local and statewide deliveries. Many patrons are businesses, law firms, medical offices, and individual clients who need things moved fast but safely.

We appreciate their bonded drivers who can deliver everything from envelopes to pallet-sized freight. To handle this, their large fleet ranges beyond standard cars to include cargo vans and box trucks.

Another thing we like is that carriers offer extra options like liftgates for locations without loading docks, inside delivery, and residential pickups. They also conveniently offer real-time tracking and electronic proof of delivery for your peace of mind.

As for their rates, they don’t use flat-rate pricing and offer custom quotes. But if you’re on a contract, you can get a discount.

For example, they can extend lower, standardized rates for businesses with regularly scheduled routes. We also heard from a past client that they’re highly competitive for specialized corporate work.

Just note that using their heavy-box-truck rush option for a non-urgent bulk delivery here can be pricey. This is typically more expensive than choosing standard less-than-truckload (LTL) freight lines or the postal service.

Pros

  • Offers same-day deliveries
  • Can transport envelopes to pallet freight
  • Operates a diverse vehicle fleet
  • Provides liftgate assistance
  • Real-time tracking and electronic proof of delivery
  • Gives discounted contract rates
  • Competitive corporate pricing

Cons

  • Pricey option for rush heavy-box-truck deliveries

Completed the pickup and delivery very quickly

“I had an emergency situation with a work project. Reliable Couriers acted quickly, provided a quote and time window. My manager approved the quote for expense purposes. Reliable communicated with my manager to setup the delivery. Reliable completed the pickup and delivery very quickly and followed all directions. Reliable called the necessary parties and provided completion photos. Thank you.”

Contact Details:

  • +1 614 398 8441

Business Hours:

  • Mon-Fri: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Sat-Sun: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm

Website

Bustown Courier highlights same-day and scheduled runs across central Ohio. They’re a small, hands-on shop that’s ideal for businesses, especially legal, retail, and office catering.

The team offers a mix of bicycles (like Omnium cargo models) and vehicle delivery in and around downtown.

This way, they can deliver large wholesale bakery boxes, office catering platters, and time-sensitive legal stacks past heavy downtown gridlock without parking restrictions or vehicle delays that plague standard vans.

We also believe this sets them apart from larger national courier brands by offering a more personal and approachable experience.

Instead of navigating automated corporate call centers, customers can communicate directly with the owner, Jaedon, and his small team through text or phone calls. This allows for faster coordination and scheduling adjustments.

Their pricing model is based on custom, volume-based, and distance-based rates, with options categorized into standard, immediate, or rush delivery tiers. They also offer notable contract discounts for businesses that require recurring delivery routes.

However, because their operations primarily rely on bikes and standard consumer-sized vehicles, they are not suited for large-scale commercial warehouse logistics or industrial machinery transport.

Pros

  • Personalized small-team service
  • Provides same-day deliveries
  • Supports scheduled courier runs
  • Operates bike and vehicle fleet
  • Offers direct owner communication
  • Gives discounted rates for recurring routes

Cons

  • Limited capacity for large freight

Professional, communicative, and attentive

“This is the best courier company in Columbus, Ohio especially downtown. Professional, communicative, friendly, and attentive!”

-Lucy Valteris, Google Review

Even under stress, he arrives with a smile and a great attitude

“Jaedon has bailed us out of a few last minute delivery requests. Even under stress, he arrives with a smile and great attitude. You can’t go wrong with Bustown Courier!”

3. TimeSavers Courier

Address: 2001 Courtright Rd I

Business Hours:

  • Open 24/7

Website

TimeSavers Courier is a family-owned, expedited delivery service in Columbus. They offer same-day, rush, and freight deliveries for businesses, medical offices, and local organizations across Ohio and beyond.

We find it incredible that they can handle everything from small envelopes to full-truck-load freight. They use vans, cargo vans, and 26-ft box trucks up to around 10,000 lbs.

Unlike small bike messengers or basic car-only couriers, their DOT-registered box truck fleet gives them a distinct advantage. They can back directly into commercial warehouse docks to load heavy pallets and execute same-day heavy distribution.

And interestingly, they recently added a weekly Columbus-Cincinnati route with discounted, scheduled runs. This is mainly for businesses that ship regularly between the 2 cities.

When it comes to fees, they use a tiered pricing engine based on distance, vehicle classification, and urgency matrices. Basically, they’re cheaper for regional freight but significantly more expensive for small, local errands.

But as you know, they are located on the east side of Columbus near the I-70/I-270 interchange and use larger vehicles. For us, this means they’re not optimized for cheap, lightning-fast downtown legal envelope hand-offs.

Pros

  • Handles rush and freight shipments
  • Transports envelopes to full truck loads
  • Operates vans and 26-ft box trucks
  • Supports heavy pallet and warehouse loading
  • Enables dock-to-dock commercial delivery
  • Discounted recurring regional runs

Cons

  • High rates for small local errands
  • Less optimized for short downtown deliveries

Very reliable, customer service driven, and pleasant

“Timesavers is a great company!! Adam is very reliable, very customer service driven, and always a pleasant encounter!!”

-Benjamin O’brien, Google Review

Attentive, responsive, and truly committed

“Have nothing but great things to say about the team! Customer service is top tier- attentive, responsive, and truly committed to delivering a great experience from start to finish. It’s clear they take pride in what they do.”

4. Best Courier

Business Hours:

  • Open 24/7

Website

Operating since 1979, Best Courier is a 24-hour courier service providing fast, same-day deliveries for businesses and other clients across Columbus and nearby cities.

We appreciate their no-extra-fees approach, which makes them a reliable partner for transporting packages and small freight based on varying urgency levels. Delivery windows can range from 60 to 90 minutes, 2 to 3 hours, or longer, depending on service requirements.

Moreover, they handle recurring morning and afternoon mail runs directly to local post office substations and the Columbus Air Mail Facility to let corporate teams bypass long public lines.

They even allow corporate clients to rent a physical vehicle and a dedicated driver for a full day, week, or month. This is a great outsourcing for those facing sudden employee vacations or seasonal delivery spikes.

The team uses a variable, account-dependent pricing framework rather than standardized public flat fees too. Someone we talked to mentioned that they can be pricier upfront, but cheaper for volume.

Yet, there’s strict gatekeeping here for new clients. Before they can book a vehicle, they must submit an application form and wait for an agent to call back and establish a line of credit.

Pros

  • 24-hour courier service
  • Provides same-day delivery runs
  • Delivers packages, documents, and small freight
  • Supports multiple urgency delivery windows
  • Dedicated driver and vehicle rentals
  • Volume-friendly account pricing

Cons

  • Requires application approval for new clients

Super impressed with their professionalism and speed

“Toni and her team were awesome! They were able to take care of my needs all in 1 day, getting my court documents, then getting them apostilled, and put in the mail! Super impressed with their professionalism and speed. I received the package next day

prices were reasonable. Highly recommend and will use them in the future if needed! Thank you!”

-Lataya De Jesus, Google Review

Always arrives on time and gets to the destination as quickly as possible

“Best courier is a great company to work with. The representatives that answer the phones are always super kind, and eager to help. I like that I can get my services setup quickly & accurately every time I reach out. They always arrive on time, and get to the destination as quickly as possible. They do an awesome job!”

5. Primetime

primetime

Address: 3079 E 14th Ave

Contact Details:

Business Hours:

  • Open 24/7

Website

Primetime is a freight-plus-warehouse shop built for businesses needing same-day, urgent freight and storage. Unlike a 1-driver-to-1-client courier app, they combine warehouse space, tracking, and a team of drivers into one operation.

They are experts in specialty and industrial freight, so we believe they can handle any size and material. This includes any time-sensitive or tricky loads.

Amazingly, for us, some of these items are concert stage equipment, medical specimens, or even life-saving organs that standard freight lines could refuse.

This company possesses Canadian Authority too. This legal certification permits their driver teams to handle cross-border expedited freight runs without requiring intermediate asset handoffs at the border.

We also think it’s helpful that the team offers 24/7/365 availability with a live dispatcher every time you call. In our book, this is a big plus for urgent or after-hours jobs.

And like many others, they don’t use flat-fee public grids but custom pricing based on the size and weight, vehicle, distance, and fuel cost.

But since they use large industrial trucks and commercial drivers, keep in mind that their minimum starting fee for a tiny delivery will be much higher.

Pros

  • Offers same-day urgent freight service
  • Combines warehousing and delivery operations
  • Handles specialty and industrial freight
  • Transports sensitive and time-critical loads
  • Operates with the Canadian freight authority
  • Provides 24/7 live dispatcher access

Cons

  • High minimum fees for small deliveries

They are the ones you want to ship or receive your goods

“Primetime Delivery is who you want to ship or receive your goods. 24/7 365.”
